Britney Spears Reportedly Open To ‘Tell-All’ Interview With Oprah Winfrey

Singer Britney Spears is reportedly open to sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for a new interview ahead of the release of her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

The 41-year-old pop star has not given any public interviews about her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. However, it looks like that could change this year.

On Sunday morning, Britney Spears started trending following news that an insider told The Sun that she plans to sit down with Oprah Winfrey ahead of the October release of her memoir. Sources revealed that the pop star had been offered “significant sums of money” to talk about her life story before her memoir was released.

The insider even revealed that Oprah initially contacted him in 2021 after his conservatorship ended. However, the source said the “Toxic” singer turned down the offer because she is “still coming to terms with the free life and mentally processing her freedom.” However, they went on to say that Britney is “in a different place” now and may be ready to share her story on camera.

“The [interview] The proposal remains complicated for Britney who continues to face the challenge of talking to strangers at length about intimate aspects of her life,” the source revealed. “Trauma doesn’t disappear overnight just because conservatorship ends. Some days can be very testing and conversations can trigger him to behave strangely or erratically.”

“Of course, putting a TV lens on it can be a problem and that means a proper news-style interview is out of the question,” they continued. “However, a more stylish interview, allowing him and the team to take control is an option. Such a move, to work with a production company or someone like Oprah, would be the strongest game, but the reality is managing Britney’s mental well-being and health in the process.

They revealed that the decision to talk about her life on camera is up to Britney and no one else. The interview, if it happens, will reportedly cover everything from her parents’ control over her personal and financial affairs during conservatorship to her high-profile relationships with Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline. His conservation is also expected to be touched a lot, as is his mental health.

Britney’s Mother and Sister Reportedly Don’t Know What’s Written About Them in Her Memoir

The outlet previously reported that the pop star has not shared any details about the memoir with her mother, Lynne Spears, or her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, although the family appears to be working to make amends. An insider told the outlet that Britney “didn’t tell her mother, Lynne, how much was written about their family and past drama in her upcoming memoir. Lynne didn’t know the full extent of what her daughter was talking about, even though the couple spoke again.”

“Britney has been keeping her cards close to her chest about what’s in the memoir,” they continued. “She’s been chomping at the bit to present her experience of being famous and the role her parents played – and Lynne is being kept in the dark about what Britney has to say about their relationship.” Sources say that her publicist at Simon and Schuster has also warned Britney to “continue to talk about her experiences in the book only to those closest to her in her life.”

An insider claims that Britney only spoke to her husband, Iranian actor Sam Asghari, her agent, and ghostwriter Sam Lansky about what she wrote in “The Woman In Me” ahead of its highly anticipated release. A family friend told the outlet that they expected Britney to write candidly about her father and expected what she said to be “scary.”

“Britney doesn’t want to cover up her difficult family dynamics. For nearly two decades Britney has felt that her parents have run the narrative of her life, and now it’s her turn to introduce her version to the world,” the source warned. “Britney explained to her mother that she wanted her version of her life out in the open after so much time seeing others talk about it. However, where that leaves the mother-daughter relationship after the book’s publication remains to be determined.”

The source actually had nothing but positive things to say about her mother, Lynne Spears. “Lynne was by his side for most of his early career as a child to become the world’s biggest pop star as a teenager,” the source told the outlet. “Britney has expressed different opinions about those moments to friends over the past few decades – positive and negative.”

“He remembers how Lynne gave up her life to support his dreams and support him during failed auditions and teenage love problems,” they continued. “But after 2004, Britney pushed back on her career, started partying, and actively distanced herself from her parents, which led to huge arguments.”

“Everything blew up after her famous meltdown, which led to Lynne agreeing to have Britney placed in a hospital mental evaluation hold and then supporting conservatorship,” they continued. “At times, Britney admitted she was ‘scared’ of what her family might do to her. What Britney had to say about her breakdown and conservatorship [in her memoir] possibly seismic.”

The source went on to say that there are “a lot of bridges to cross until they become full friends,” while a family friend claims, “There’s a lot of drama bubbling between them, despite the desire for peace.” While it appears that Britney may be able to mend her relationship with her mother, sources say that Britney wants to “expose” her father for the “control and abuse” she allegedly suffered during her conservatorship.

The Book Gallery’s senior vice president, Jennifer Bergstrom, had nothing but positive things to say about her memoir. “Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed the law, and demonstrated her inspiring strength and courage. I have no doubt her memoir will have the same impact — and will be the publication event of the year,” she told the outlet. “We couldn’t be more proud to help her finally share her story.”

Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman In Me,” will hit shelves on October 24.
