Pop star Britney Spears opened up about her “motives” for writing her new memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
Many of the headlines that have come out of her storybook so far have been about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, whom she dated from 1999 to 2002. As her memoir shows, their relationship was fraught with allegations of infidelity and, as her storybook recently revealed, pregnancy unplanned.
However, the now 41-year-old pop star took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday evening to insist that she was only telling her story and had no intention of calling anyone’s name through the mud.

In a message posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram, the “Hold Me Closer” singer opened up about her motivation for writing “The Woman In Me” just days before its official release on October 24.
“The purpose of my book is not to offend anyone in any way !!! That was me then … that was the past!!!” he started “I don’t like the headlines I read…that’s why I quit the business 4 years ago!!! Most of the books are from 20 years ago … I’ve moved and it’s a pretty clean slate from here!!!”
“I’m here to set it that way for the rest of my life!!!” he continued. “Anyway, that was the last one and s— happened !! This is actually a book that didn’t know to write … although some may be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!!”

“Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book is not to quote my past experiences that the press did and it was stupid and stupid!!!” he concluded. “I’ve since moved on !! #TheWomaninMe.”
Britney has refused to do interviews for the memoir, even though she was allegedly offered a large sum of money to do so. Although he teased a potential sequel to his memoir in the future, he deleted the Instagram post and it seems he may be reconsidering based on the amount of attention the book has received.

While she usually disables comments on her Instagram posts, she didn’t on this one. “The media twists everything. It’s stupid and silly. And you shouldn’t feel the need to explain yourself,” commented one fan. Another follower agreed, writing, “Can’t wait to read this future bestseller. You don’t have to apologize or explain yourself at all.”
“It’s good that you talk about everything! A lot of women will understand and are in the same position and it’s good to be open about these issues,” a third fan chimed in. “Say whatever you need to. You have been silenced for more than 13 years in an abusive conservatorship. Britney, BE PROUD OF YOURSELF,” wrote another follower.

“You don’t owe anyone or any kind of explanation. You are allowed to speak your mind and live freely. F— anyone who thinks otherwise. They’ve all been brainwashed and none of them can handle what you’ve been through,” shared another fan. “It’s a part (chapter) of your life, so it’s good in your book in your biography a very natural thing to do! How can you write a biography without facts from your life!” another follower responded.
“We love you, B. I’m sorry you had to see this headline. We are happy to hear your side of the story. Finally!” shouted another fan. “You deserve closure- I can’t wait to listen to your audiobook. Wish you the best with the book! Also going to see Crossroads again in theaters! You deserve success!” another follower shared.

“Can’t wait to read your book soon next week. Thank you for opening your heart to us. We love you. Your past has its own meaning and yes, we are not alone because we have you,” another fan commented. “The only people who will be offended by you sharing your truth are the people who benefit from your silence. Can’t wait to read,” wrote another follower.
“You don’t owe anyone an apology. this is your experience and your truth. if people don’t like how it affects you maybe they shouldn’t treat you like that. From one traumatized person to another, you deserve peace and happiness. The media is looking for clicks and using your trauma for it,” wrote another fan as many followers expressed their agreement.
Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
