One photo was taken when they first met in 2003, while the other was taken in 2008. In the caption, Britney recalls how the two first met.
“This is in the past but it’s pretty cool … During my Oops Tour, I got a knock on my door. My best friend at the time was my assistant manager who was trying to become his own manager,” Britney recalls. “There was a knock, and then he said, ‘I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.’ I was like of course!!!”

Although Britney didn’t mention Taylor Swift in her memoir, she gave plenty of praise to one of her idols. The Princess of Pop has nothing but praise for the Queen of Pop, Madonna, in the pages of her storybook and praises her influence in the music industry. “I’m a little girl with big dreams. I want to be a star like Madonna, Dolly Parton, or Whitney Houston,” Britney wrote as she recalled some of her early career influences.
“I started bumping into Madonna all over the world. I’ll be performing in Germany and Italy, and we’ll end up performing at the same European award show. We will greet each other as friends,” he said. “If I could go back now, I would try to be my own parent, my own partner, my own advocate – like I know Madonna did.”
“She has experienced sexism and bullying from the public and the industry, and has been shamed for her sexuality many times, but she has always overcome it,” he continued, agreeing “that the music industry – really the whole world – is providing more for men” before she shared some details about their viral 2003 VMA kiss.

“We decided to perform together at the VMAs. Every time we practice, we do air kisses,” he revealed. “About two minutes before the show, I was sitting on the side of the stage thinking about my biggest performance to date at the VMAs, when I took off the suit to reveal a glittery dress.”
“I thought to myself, ‘I want a moment like that again this year. With that kiss, do I have to do it?'” Britney later said, “A lot is made of that kiss. Oprah asked Madonna about it. The kiss was considered a huge cultural moment – ’Britney kisses Madonna!’ – and it struck a chord with both of us.” He later revealed that the kiss eventually led to their collaboration “Me Against The Music.” Britney described the hit single as “still one of my favorite songs, and collaborating with him is part of what makes it so memorable.”
