Britney Spears’ Sons Reportedly ‘Upset’ By Wildfires Around New Home In Hawaii

Singer Britney Spears was married to her ex-husband Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007 and shares two children together: Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16.

The 41-year-old pop star agreed to allow his two sons to move to Hawaii earlier this month, as Kevin’s current wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, was offered a job in the sports department at a university in Hawaii. Although both boys survived the wildfires in Hawaii, they were still devastated by the devastation in their new home state.

Fortunately, Kevin Federline did not move his family to Maui, where homes and businesses were destroyed by the terrible wildfires that occurred there. However, a source told TMZ on Friday that the boys are still upset to see all the destruction that happened there. They moved into a rented house on a neighboring island two weeks ago and are still looking for a permanent place to call home.

The two sons have been separated from their mother for more than a year and did not attend her June 2022 wedding to actor Sam Asghari, despite living nearby. They also chose not to visit Britney in person before they moved to Hawaii and it’s unclear if Britney has plans to visit them, especially with wildfires ravaging much of the island of Maui.

Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Page Six that the boys are “deeply saddened” by the devastation taking place in Maui.

“[They are] not personally [affected], but there are people in the area who are dying and their homes are destroyed, so it’s very traumatic,” he said. “Obviously, at the moment, everyone is very sad about what happened there with the fire and the victims of the fire, but apart from the trauma of that, they are very happy to be there.”

Aside from the fire, though, the boys are reportedly happy to be able to stay in Hawaii. “They’re excited about it. They live in heaven,” he said, adding, “They love it there. They had been there before they decided to move, but they were very happy there.”

Although Kaplan said that there was some “trauma” from the wildfires, he said that the boys were “very excited” to “build a future in a new environment, make new friends and explore new opportunities.”

A source told the outlet that Preston will start school in Hawaii while Jayden finishes classes remotely at his school in Los Angeles. Britney has yet to comment on how she feels about her son being in Hawaii during the wildfires, but she did share a video of him dancing and covering the camera on Instagram on Thursday night.

The report explained that drought conditions and hurricane-like weather caused wildfires to sweep across the island of Maui, causing many to evacuate with only the clothes on their backs. Many different towns on Maui have been affected, but the town of Lahaina has reportedly been wiped off the map by the destruction.

“’Āina Momona is raising these funds to support our Maui community. All funds raised will go to the Hawaii Community Foundation Maui County Strong Fund https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong to support disaster relief in Maui,” they wrote in the caption, adding, “Thank you for your support.”
