In an excerpt from her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” released by People magazine, Britney lamented how she had to be portrayed “as an eternal virgin” by her management team, even though she had lost her virginity at age 14.
“Since I have a lot of teenage fans, my managers and press people have long tried to portray me as a perpetual virgin – never mind that Justin and I have been living together, and I’ve had sex since I was fourteen,” Britney wrote.
“Why is my manager working so hard to claim I’m some kind of virgin even in my twenties? Whose business is it if I have sex or not?” he asked. In her 2008 memoir, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” Britney’s mother Lynne Spears claimed her daughter had lost her virginity at the age of fourteen as well.

In an interview with W Magazine later that year, Britney said that she had only slept with one person. “I’ve only slept with one person my whole life,” she told the outlet. “It was two years into my relationship with Justin, and I thought he was the one. … But I was wrong! In an excerpt of her memoir released by the Daily Mail just a day before its official release, Britney revealed that her mother punished her for skipping school after she started dating one of her brother’s best friends, Bryan Spears.
He admits that he is “young” for ninth grade, while his brother’s friend is 17, because his brother is a senior in high school. The “Overprotected” singer admitted to sneaking out during the school day to see her new boyfriend but noted how the relationship “ended up taking a toll [her] time,” which resulted in him missing several days of school after forging his mother’s signature.
“I would go to school as usual at 7 in the morning but leave at lunchtime, around one in the afternoon, and spend the evening with him,” she wrote in her memoirs. “Then he would drive me back right when school was about to get out. I just innocently got on the bus and went home like nothing happened.”

Eventually, the school called to tell his mom that the “Toxic” singer had missed a total of 17 days of school, forcing Bryan to fill his parents in on the whole story. “The age difference between me and this guy is huge – obviously – now it seems exaggerated,” he admitted.
“So my brother, who was always very protective, started hating her,” she continued. “When Bryan caught me sneaking out to visit his friend, he told my parents. As punishment, I had to walk around the neighborhood all day with a bucket, cleaning up trash like a highway inmate. Bryan follows me taking pictures while crying, I pick up trash.”
Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
