Can a girl have too many diamonds? It looks like Britney might, because the “Mind Your Business” singer has absolutely no desire to hold onto her engagement ring. The 29-year-old actor popped the question in September 2021, just two months before Britney was released from her controversial conservatorship in November of the same year.
On Friday, an insider told the Daily Mail that Britney did not want to keep the diamond ring made by jeweler Roman Malayev. “’Sam can have the ring. It was free from the goldsmith and he didn’t want it anymore. He has enough diamonds,” the source said, noting the ring was given to Sam for free to generate publicity for the brand.
However, it is unclear what else Sam plans to contest the divorce. In the divorce filing, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor wrote: “The petitioner has yet to determine the full nature and extent of each party’s separate property assets and liabilities. There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are not known to the Petitioner at this time.”

Earlier this week, Us Weekly delved deeper into the prenuptial agreement the couple signed and found something interesting. According to the outlet, the former couple signed an agreement that said the 29-year-old actor would receive “$1 million every two years” of their marriage, with a cap of $10 million after fifteen years. Since Sam filed for divorce after fourteen months together, it looks like he won’t be able to come up with even a million dollars.
On Friday, TMZ did all but confirm that the actress will get “no pay” amid her divorce. Although the actress is asking for spousal support and attorney fees in her divorce petition, sources state that Britney’s prenup prevents her from getting spousal support. While dog custody is a separate matter, it appears that Sam won’t receive much, if anything, from the divorce.

The outlet also noted that there was an “extensive confidentiality clause” in the prenup that prevented Sam from talking about the divorce. This is especially true for fans, who have been concerned about the pop star since Wednesday night, when a source told Page Six that the 29-year-old actress is reportedly “trying to negotiate concessions outside of her prenup and threatening to reveal very embarrassing information about Britney unless he’s paid.”
However, on Thursday, her representative Brandon Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter that she has no intention of challenging the prenup. “There have been numerous allegations that Sam challenged the prenup and threatened to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” he said. “However, all these allegations are false, as no negative intentions have ever been directed at him and will never happen. Sam has always and will always support him.”

Earlier on Thursday, the actress took to her Instagram story to address the split for the first time. “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish him the best. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy apparently [ridiculous] so I would just ask everyone including the media to be kind and considerate.”
Late Friday night, Britney also took to Instagram to break her silence on her divorce. “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone, so, I’m a little surprised but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s really nobody’s business !!!” she wrote in the caption of the bikini dancing video. “But, I can’t take the pain anymore to be honest!!! In some kind of telepathic way I have received so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I am grateful!!!”
