According to Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash, Irving and his wife Marlene Wilkerson welcomed their second child together on Tuesday. CBSSports.com announced that ESPN.com’s Nick Friedell reported that Irving did not practice with the team on Wednesday and may not play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Miami Heat because of his birth. It was also reported that the NBA star may take the next few days off before returning to the court.

The Blast reported that Wilkerson might be pregnant in August after Irving posted a carousel of photos on Instagram. Fans wondered if one of the photos could be a subtle pregnancy announcement due to the placement of Irving’s hands. And now less than three months later, it looks like they were right. Many commented on the post assuming another baby was on the way saying, “Another one coming kyrie?,” and many congratulatory messages. The couple are already parents to son Kaire, born in June 2021. Irving is also father to Azurie Elizabeth, 6, with his ex, Andrea Wilson.
While no other information has been made available, Irving’s fans know it may be time before he posts on social media about the new baby. The couple also silently greeted Kaire. Wilkerson posted a video on YouTube titled, “Our Pregnancy Journey” shortly after the baby was born. The video takes viewers through her pregnancy and several of her water births. Instagram followers didn’t see the baby until a few months ago when Irving posted a carousel of photos questioning if another baby was on the way.
