Billy Eichner was frustrated by the lack of support from “straight people” that the movie Bros. received.
Billy Eichner Claims Straight People Are Not Helping
The actor’s romantic comedy hit theaters this weekend and now that the numbers are up and they’ve landed at number four, one of Eichner’s co-stars is frustrated with the film’s lack of attention.
“Everyone who is NOT homophobic queer should go see BROS tonight! You will have a blast! And it *is* special and unique to see this story on the big screen, especially for queers who don’t get this opportunity very often. I really like this movie. GO BROS!!!” He wrote on Twitter.

The actor received a large number of replies stating that it had nothing to do with homophobia and more boredom than a bad script.
“I’m not homophobic at all, but you should cast a likable actor in the lead. You start screaming in the opening scene & never stop. I saw it with gay friends & it turned us off. A friend got so bored that he started texting. I understand. Write a better script,” replied one upset fan.

Eichner went on to tweet that he was disappointed in the world we live in because his movie didn’t do as well as he thought it would.
“That’s the world we live in, unfortunately,” he said. He realized that the movie was getting good reviews so he probably assumed that people would run to the theaters to make it number one.
“Great reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, don’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but that’s what happens.”
The actor continued to put his foot in his mouth on Twitter apparently blaming straight people for the downfall of his film. Eichner managed to calm himself down and ended the night on a good note.
“Last night I snuck in and sat in the back of a sold out theater playing BROS in LA. The audience howled with laughter beginning to end, applauded at the end, and some wiped away tears as they walked out. It is truly magical. very. I am VERY proud of this film.”

Billy Eichner Faces Tough Competition

Bros against some tough elements to reach that number one spot. First, the movie was released during the Halloween season, so automatically, people weren’t in the mood for fun. Next, it’s up against the horror film, Smile, perfect for October and Don’t Worry Darling the film with all the drama behind the scenes.
Also, as good as the score and reviews are, not many viewers rely on it that much anymore, so there you go!
