Caitlyn Jenner Says Tell-All Documentary Was Done ‘To Protect My Family’

Caitlyn Jenner is talking about her upcoming documentary, but her intentions are deeper than sensationalism. The former Olympian turned reality TV star shared the driving force behind the project while maintaining her relationship with ex Kris Jenner.

The Reason Behind Caitlyn Jenner’s Revealing Documentary

While his absence from the family’s latest reality venture raises questions, the 73-year-old’s candid explanation explains his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. In an exclusive interview on ITV1’s “This Morning,” the former college football player explained his decision to take part in the revealing three-part series.

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson, he revealed that his deep love for his children as a devoted parent and his need to protect them was the sincere intention behind being involved in the project. The TV personality stated:

He further stated, “But I think a lot of times in the media you’re misrepresented, so I wanted to do it just to say firstly how much I love my kids, and secondly how proud I am of them and what they’ve been able to achieve. It is an amazing story.”

While not sure how much contact she still has with the Kardashians, Caitlyn explained that communication with Kris has decreased significantly, which she finds sad.

As for the rest, after adding that talking to the ‘momager’ was done through her manager, she explained that due to having a large number of children, she is “closer to some of you than others…”

The former co-host of “America Alive!” also revealed, “I definitely saw them, and we did this and that. I’m closer to the Jenner side, but Kris, I don’t have any more contact with her. It’s kind of sad because we’ve been through a lot.”

Since they don’t seem to be on good terms, it’s no surprise that Kris didn’t participate in the documentary. However, when asked about handling negative media coverage and reports suggesting the above, Caitlyn dismissed it, stating, “It’s part of the game. The media will create a lot of controversy and try to create stories.”

The “Can’t Stop the Music” star’s ability to ignore the noise is part of what she passes on to her stepdaughter Kim. Speaking to the outlet, she praised the Skims owner for her business acumen and work ethic before revealing that “Kim wants to be a celebrity and get into that world.”
