Kerry Washington has announced the release of her new memoir, Thicker Than Water, which will reportedly be available on September 26. Actors, producers, and activists open up to People magazine about the book, calling it a “deeply personal project.”

She told the publication, “Writing the memoir is, by far, the most deeply personal project I’ve ever undertaken. I hope readers will embrace it with open hearts and I pray it offers new insights and perspectives, inviting people into the twelve deeper pity — for themselves and others.”

He said it will also explore how he “crossed the threshold of notoriety and political advocacy, finally finding his true self and, with it, a deeper sense of belonging.”

“Thicker Than Water” will also be published as a hardcover book by Little, Brown Spark, which is a division of Little, Brown and Company. Tracy Behar, the company’s VP and Publisher, shared a statement about Washington’s book release.

While Washington is gearing up for the memoir’s release, he’s also busy with several upcoming film projects. The “Django Unchained” star features in the upcoming Hulu series “Unprisoned,” which is a true-life story inspired by the experiences and life of Tracy McMillan.
