Kerry Washington has announced the release of her new memoir, Thicker Than Water, which will reportedly be available on September 26. Actors, producers, and activists open up to People magazine about the book, calling it a “deeply personal project.”
She told the publication, “Writing the memoir is, by far, the most deeply personal project I’ve ever undertaken. I hope readers will embrace it with open hearts and I pray it offers new insights and perspectives, inviting people into the twelve deeper pity — for themselves and others.”

Washington wrote in the post that the new memoir will reflect on her life and share how she overcame many challenges, traumas and obstacles as she developed her career. He said it will also explore how he “crossed the threshold of notoriety and political advocacy, finally finding his true self and, with it, a deeper sense of belonging.”
“Thicker Than Water” will also be published as a hardcover book by Little, Brown Spark, which is a division of Little, Brown and Company. Tracy Behar, the company’s VP and Publisher, shared a statement about Washington’s book release.
The statement was read, per Many people, “Many of us have been captivated by his work, both on and off the screen, but few have the full picture of what it took to get there. A brilliant and gifted storyteller, Kerry brings her considerable talent to the page to give readers a deeply personal account of her journey, highlighting all the forces that have shaped her life and career.”
He Has Several Upcoming Projects

While Washington is gearing up for the memoir’s release, he’s also busy with several upcoming film projects. The “Django Unchained” star features in the upcoming Hulu series “Unprisoned,” which is a true-life story inspired by the experiences and life of Tracy McMillan.
follow Diversity, Washington will also appear in Tyler Perry’s Netflix film “Six Triple Eight,” which features a high-profile cast. The actress will star alongside Oprah Winfrey, Ebony Obsidian, Kylie Jefferson, Milauna Jackson, and several others.
Washington is also working on the film as an executive producer. The upcoming film is a real-life adaptation, which will share the stories and experiences of the legendary all-Black and all-female battalion that fought in World War II.
Kerry Washington Previously Talked About Being A Mother

In March 2022, Washington talked about being a mother while on the red carpet time Best Woman gala on International Women’s Day. He talked to Entertainment Tonight how raising her daughter, Isabelle Amarachi, has made her want to “do better.”
The “Little Fires Everywhere” star, who was honored at the event, said, “I think being a ‘girl mom’ makes you think about these issues in a different way. They just make me want to do more and better and be there for them.”
