Looking for a new bong? Buy one from the state of California.
Items seized from marijuana shops – such as pipes, furniture and electronics – will be auctioned off Friday in the parking lot of the California Highway Patrol headquarters in Los Angeles.
The public auction will be the first hosted by the California Department of Tax & Fee Administration in partnership with the CHP.

All of the weed-related items came from 10 marijuana businesses that have been busted in the past few months.
Only one of the shops was a legitimate business but was raided for tax evasion.
“Seizing and auctioning property from illegal marijuana businesses is a tool to recover taxes owed to the state,” CDTFA Director Nick Maduros said in a statement.
Among the items up for grabs are crowd control poles, marijuana-making equipment and, of course, plenty of bongs.
Less sinister supplies, such as snow cone machines, framed art and various office supplies, will also be auctioned off.
Each item will be sold “as is” to the highest bidder.
Proceeds from the auction will be used for liabilities owed by each of the 10 debtors, CDTFA said.
Despite legalizing marijuana in 2018, California has struggled with a thriving underground market that includes unlicensed grow operations, brazen robberies from legitimate businesses and clandestine illegal deliveries to out-of-state vendors.
Last month, the bodies of six men were found in the Mojave Desert in a brutal killing that authorities believe stemmed from an aggravated illegal marijuana deal.
