California teen used ‘multiple weapons’ to kill parents before reporting bogus break-in: cops

A 14-year-old California boy allegedly used “multiple weapons” to kill both his parents and seriously injure his younger sister before calling 911 to report a fake home invasion, authorities said.

The teenager was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder after the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call of an injured person that he made around 7:40 pm on Wednesday.

His name and photo were not immediately released because of his age.

According to radio traffic reviewed by KFSN, the dispatcher who took the 911 call heard “screaming on the line, saying someone broke into his house with a gun” and children crying in the background.

Upon arrival, police said the boy claimed someone had broken into his home in Miramonte, California and brutally attacked his family before fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.

Deputies entered the home to find the bodies of the teenager’s parents, identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, both 37, as well as his 11-year-old sister, who “suffered serious injuries” and were rushed to a local hospital.

The girl underwent emergency surgery and is expected to be safe, police said.

Another boy was found inside the home and was unharmed, although police have not released his age or relationship to the rest of the family. KFSN reports that he is the 7-year-old younger brother of the murder suspect.

Homicide detectives were called to the home and found “inconsistencies” with the boy’s account of what had happened.

“Evidence ultimately showed that the 14-year-old boy had fabricated the story of the break-in and was responsible for using multiple weapons to attack his family members,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Investigators have yet to determine a motive for the alleged killing, but Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni said it was an isolated incident.

“Two children have lost their mother and father due to the actions of their other siblings,” Zanoni told KFSN.

Miramonte is an unincorporated rural community in Fresno County located approximately 50 miles east of the City of Fresno.

Calls made to the sheriff’s department were not immediately returned Sunday.
