Cardi B’s Butt-Teasing Marge Simpson Halloween Costume Might Land Her In Serious Legal Troubles

A contemporary pop artist recently revealed that she intends to sue Cardi B over her Marge Simpson Halloween costume. The rapper was previously sued by a man who accused him of using one of his tattoos on his album without his consent. He went on to win the case.

Cardi, like many Hollywood stars, is known to go all out for her Halloween costumes. While she dressed as a witch last year, this year, Cardi decided on an animated character in the popular series “The Simpsons.” She dresses like a character, albeit in a more revealing outfit than Marge.

Despite the applause and admiring comments when she revealed her outfit, Cardi may be on the verge of being sued for her portrayal of an animated mother of three without proper authorization.

follow Insider, an Italian pop artist named aleXsandro Palombo is preparing to sue Cardi. The artist was apparently offended by the recreation of his work in his Halloween costume. The artist is popular for turning the Fox animated sitcom “The Simpsons” into his art. She claims that Cardi’s filming of Marge on October 31st was without her permission.

The in-person photo shows Cardi in yellow paint to match the series character’s skin and Marge’s towering blue hair. On top of the make-up and wig, the singer wore a dress that featured a cut-out at the back that exposed her bum.

In the post’s caption, Cardi reportedly failed to credit or tag Palombo; however, her photo was among the images posted on the series shared on October 31. The “Money” singer, however, praised Thierry Mugler, a French designer responsible for the clothes in Palombo’s work.

The artist said he contacted Cardi B

Palombo posted a photo of Cardi in a Marge costume on November 1 on Instagram, describing the outfit as her work. He also said that he had previously contacted the “Bodak Yellow” rapper about the lack of permission for the post, but he failed to respond. He went on to state that his failure to credit her for his work was a violation of intellectual property rights.

“We wrote to Mrs. Cardi B and collaborators how they never contacted us to get permission to use the artwork and did not mention [sic] or giving credit to the artist, violates Meta’s policy on intellectual property rights. Still no answer,” the post read.

Palombo’s lawyer, Claudio Volpi, spoke to Artnet news and revealed that when he used an artist’s work without credit, the Grammy winner failed to uphold “the most basic rules of copyright and Instagram policy.”

After a lack of response to his inquiries, Volpi reportedly sent an official notice informing Cardi and her group of future legal action if requests to credit Palombo were not met.

The Italian artist initially created a piece inspired by Mugler in 2013 for Vogue UK in the series “Style Icon Marge Simpson”. Palombo explained that the purpose of the series was to transform Marge into a shocking icon. It is to reflect the emancipation of women and gender equality through the most significant moments of the last century using fashion clothes.

“There is a Marge Simpson in every woman, and with this tribute, I want to ignite the magic that is in every woman; strength, femininity, elegance, eroticism, and beauty,” said the artist about the work. “I made a strict and careful selection of what, in my opinion, had really influenced the style of the last 100 years.

“Each of these garments completely changed the course of clothing history, providing a new aesthetic vision that anticipated major changes in our society,” said Palombo. The fictional mother of three has been styled in several outfits from the past 100 years, including the exact outfit Cardi wore on Halloween.

Cardi B Wins Lawsuit In October

Cardi got involved and won a lawsuit in October. The suit was filed by a man named Kevin Michael Brophy, who claimed the rapper had misappropriated his appearance through the use of images of his tattoos as his album art. Cardi appeared in court in Santa Ana, California, where she defended herself against Brophy’s allegations.

The copyright infringement is for a tattoo of a tiger facing a snake surrounded by roses lying behind it. The tattoo was reportedly edited onto the back of a male model on the cover of Cardi’s first mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Music, Vol. 1. The model is shown in a limousine giving the rapper oral sex while he helps himself to an alcoholic drink.

During his testimony, Brophy said, “This is my Michelangelo. People will come up to me: ‘I can’t believe you have that piece, can I see it?’ When you get one small tattoo, that’s one thing. This is a journey. It takes a lot of pride. I want to protect this as much as I can.”
