As a mother of three sons, two of whom are infants, Ashley Graham has many responsibilities to nurture them, especially breastfeeding her younger son, who she gave birth to in 2022.
Although the supermodel has stopped breastfeeding, she accepted the challenging experience, revealing why she decided to wean the children at five months, alternating with formula milk.
Ashley Graham Stopped Breastfeeding Her Twins Because It Wasn’t Working
Graham has never shied away from speaking the truth when it comes to her body and motherhood journey, which has been a triumph for her. After the birth of her twins, she was overwhelmed with anxiety about breastfeeding them, which she recently told Chelsea Handler on “The Daily Show,” revealing why she stopped.

“It was in an instant my whole life changed,” she said when Handler noted how quickly she had her three sons. “And yes, it feels like I’m feeding a nation.”
The host then pointed out that Graham constantly uses her social media to normalize breastfeeding for many people who are uncomfortable with it. The social media icon wants every woman to be well informed about that, including the body changes – stretch marks and sagging skin – that come with pregnancy.
Responding to a discussion about “all these things” with people telling mothers how to feed their babies, Graham revealed that with her first child, she chose to only breastfeed him when he was a baby.
However, he couldn’t do the same for his twin because it didn’t work and required a lot of effort. Changing tactics, he searches for the best formula for boys, which he finally finds in Bobbie. In her words: “So I stopped breastfeeding when they were five months old, and I gave them the best formula I could find in America, Bobbie.”
The formula worked perfectly because her “little man” was “strong and happy”, which made her think that people should stop telling others how to feed their children. Elaborating on her pregnancy and postpartum journey, she also showed off the part of her hair that fell out but grew back.
The media personality explained why such things happen to many pregnant women by saying that when a woman is pregnant, her body is filled with nutrition, and the baby sucks it from her. However, after giving birth, the woman becomes “completely depleted of everything,” which leads to several outcomes, including hair loss.
Graham is currently breastfeeding a baby with a combination of breast milk and formula on the billboard, thanks to his work with Bobbie as a founding member of the Bobbie MotherBoard. Last September, she spoke to PEOPLE about the partnership, touching on how exhausting her breastfeeding journey was with her twins before introducing them to formula.
She was advised beforehand that if she did not breastfeed her son at the same time, she would not have time for herself. And that’s what happened, leaving the mother of three to figure out how to do both at the same time.
She finally found a way with combo feeding — formula and breast feeding — that took the pressure off her shoulders, calming her down enough to feed the twins with ease.
TV Presenter Is Proud Of Her ‘Baby Weight’ Months After Giving Birth
A few months after welcoming her twins, Graham sent a message of reassurance to other mums, letting them know they weren’t alone in having baby weight. As The Blast reported, she recorded herself on Instagram saying, “Not sure you need to hear this right now, but I know, and if you haven’t lost your baby weight and you’re like, hmm, I’m not losing my baby weight, you’re not alone.”
The clip shows the 35-year-old in a plain black T-shirt walking around his house, followed by a funny selfie of himself in the same tee, pouting his lips to the side and making a peace sign with his finger.

She captioned the image with “And I’m back to mommy life after being in Europe for an amazing 3 weeks.” This comes after she showed off her post-pregnancy curves, partially nude and cherished her body for the blessed three months after giving birth.
