Carly Rae Jepsen Announces New Album: ‘The Loveliest Time’

Carly Rae Jepsen has announced a new album, “The Loveliest Time,” just months after the release of “The Loneliest Time.”

Jepsen, 37, usually releases a ‘B-side’ companion album to his latest release, but the “Shy Boy” singer is doing something a little different this time!

Jepsen released the album “The Loneliest Time” last October. The album’s lead single of the same name, featuring Rufus Wainright, went on to viral success on TikTok. Fans may remember the part of the song where he sings, “What happened was/we got to the moon/but lost in space I guess we got there too soon/But you know what?/I’m back for you, baby !’ refrain.

The “Run Away With Me” singer is not yet ready to ‘run away’ from her ‘Loneliest Time’ era. He announced the release of a “complete set” of music for the record on Instagram on Thursday morning.

The announcement comes a few weeks after the release of his latest single, ‘Shy Boy!’

The Blast has covered several aspects of Jepsen’s very busy year! We saw his recent performance at England’s Glastonbury Festival, where he debuted his latest single “Shy Boy” for the first time!

Jepsen will document the travel process for the festival and his performances in Instagram posts.

Jepsen discusses the painful journey of performing “Shy Boy” for the first time in the reel’s caption. He would write, “…Feeling a little overwhelmed by the time change, I landed on stage surprised to see about 85,000 people there to greet us! I was happy to be invited and would do it again in a heartbeat! What a happy release day. Thank you for making it so special. ???”

In the two weeks since the single was released, the “Cut To The Feeling” singer has been celebrating the new single multiple times on her feed.

Jepsen will delve into his performance at Glastonbury in an Instagram carousel posted the following day.

He wrote, “Having fun ‘Shy Boy’ debut yesterday. My face says it all. And Mario’s body language sends that message home,” he joked. “I kept dreaming about this show leading up to the big day. I told my band about it during rehearsals with no ironic intent before we launched into ‘The Loneliest Time’ – a song with lyrics that begin, ‘I’ve had one of those nightmares,’ Jepsen continued. “Oh no, I looked around and we were all laughing. Next on the set list is ‘Cut To The Feeling’ [with the lyrics], ‘Am I dreaming or is it real…? I crossed the line and it was ON!’ ? I just found out that maybe I keep dreaming and writing songs about it. Hehe..”

Jepsen Announces ‘The Loveliest Time,’ Reveals It Will Be Released Soon!

Writing enough songs to warrant an entire album featuring ‘B-sides’ is one of Jepsen’s talents!

Although (as we mentioned before) “The Loveliest Time” isn’t an official ‘B-sides’ release, the “All That” singer has written enough material to exceed the number of standard songs usually found on a record!

In the caption of a photo featuring Jepsen sitting on a windowsill and staring out the window, he shared more details about his latest project.

“It was the loneliest time, it was the most beautiful time. After the hibernation season comes the flowering season ?. I recognize silence and find beauty in it. The loneliest times taught me that growth comes from being planted in the dark,” continued Jepsen. “But now the world has opened itself up again and so have we. It’s time to celebrate and for all the lessons we’ve learned to put into joyful action . The Loveliest Time…” he explained.

“By this point you know me well, I won’t tease about b-sides. It’s almost disrespectful because you know it’s coming,” shared Jepsen. “And actually it’s time to announce that it has arrived. It’s done and a month from now ‘The Loveliest Time’ will be yours. I can’t really call it a b-side as if these ideas aside- it’s a complete set for a body of work that taught me a lot about love and loneliness and myself…”

It is currently unknown if “Shy Boy” will be part of “The Loveliest Time” tracklist. One thing’s for sure: Carly Rae Jepsen fans won’t have a quiet time waiting for her release!
