Cash App Founder Bob Lee Had ‘Lots Of Drugs’ In System At Time Of Death

New details about the tragic death of software engineer Bob Lee reveal the shocking truth about the tech executive’s final moments.

Last month, San Francisco was completely shaken by a gruesome murder in the city. The founder of Cash App was brutally stabbed to death in the early hours of April 4.

A month after the viral crime left many people fed up with their surroundings, a recently released autopsy revealed the 43-year-old may have been involved in some illegal substance. Do these drugs affect the death of native St. Louis? Read on to find out.

Autopsy Report Shows Bob Lee Consumed Alcohol & Other Substances Before His Murder

According to Lee’s post-mortem examination records obtained by NBC News, the former Google employee had multiple substances before succumbing to the deadly cold’s grip. Findings from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner showed that the software engineer had cocaethylene in his body, a compound produced from a mixture of alcohol and cocaine.

There are also cocaine and ketamine byproducts that are metabolized along with the side effects of the allergy medication cetirizine, commonly known as Zyrtec. Despite the presence of these substances in Lee’s body, the businessman died from other factors.

A report by Dr. Ellen Moffatt, assistant medical examiner, explained that alcohol and drug ingestion did not contribute to the 43-year-old’s death. The main cause of death of children born in St. Louis was a few stab wounds inflicted by his killer.

The medical practitioner concluded that “the manner and method of death of the technology executive was homicide due to severe injuries.” The Jolt Award winner received three brutal attacks, two to his chest and one to his hip.

According to the report, one of the wounds to the chest was about two to three inches deep, “puncturing the right anterior lateral inferior ventricle of the heart” and the “right posterior lateral inferior ventricle.”

Who could have masterminded such a horrific act of violence? The truth about the incident has not yet been revealed. However, the authorities have arrested a suspect, Nima Momeni, one of the deceased’s acquaintances.

The pair reportedly argued about Momeni’s sister before Lee’s death, a confrontation between the suspect siblings mentioned in a text message sent to the Cash App founder. However, Paula Canny’s alleged attacker’s lawyer sings a different song.

After a pretrial hearing in the murder case on May 2, the lawyer told sources that his client was innocent. Drawing attention to the drug use of MobileCoin’s chief product officer, the counselor said:

“There are a lot of drugs in Bob Lee’s system. I mean, Bob Lee’s system is like the Walgreens of recreational drugs. What happens when people take drugs? Generally, they act like drug addicts.”

As if blaming Lee, the lawyer continued: “What drug people do is not themselves, not happy-go-lucky. Just delusions and making bad decisions and doing bad things.”

The Suspect In The Murder Case Is A Fellow Technology Executive

A few weeks before Lee’s autopsy was shared, The Blast reported that San Francisco police had made significant progress in the businessman’s murder case. Authorities arrested Momeni on suspicion of the tragic act in April.

The 38-year-old man was arrested at his home in Emeryville, about nine miles from where the St. Louis was killed. Like the deceased, the Berkeley graduate was a technology executive who owned the Expand IT business.

At the time of his arrest, it was unclear whether Momeni had attended the same technology conference that brought Lee to San Francisco. Although he may not have been present at the event, the suspect met the 43-year-old around 2:30am.

The two were found in Momeni’s car moments before police believe the stabbing took place. A verbal confrontation may have led to the death of Square’s chief technology officer.

However, neighbors and acquaintances of the suspect claimed that the 38-year-old man had never displayed any form of violence. Sam Singer, a public relations expert, defended Momeni in a statement to sources, declaring the tech executive a good person.

Recalling the first time he met the alleged killer at Emeryville’s posh Beslar Building, Singer praised the businessman for his friendly personality. The entrepreneur said, “He is very friendly and kind. He was quite, quite impressive, very nice, so it shocked me and everyone in the building that he was accused of the murder.”
