David Henrie teamed up with Hyype Space for a “Wizards of Waverly Place” themed challenge to help raise funds and awareness for the Anna Schindler Foundation.

The user with the most praised (or most liked) video will win a round trip for two to Post Falls in Idaho to participate in the 13th Annual Anna Schindler Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament — with David Henrie himself.

“I wanted to raise some money for the Anna Schindler Foundation, which is an incredible nonprofit that helps children with cancer and their families,” Henrie told The Blast exclusively.

“I came up with a challenge, which we’re calling the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place Incantation Challenge’, where fans have to create a creative incantation and the one with the ‘most applause’ will come out and play in the Anna Schindler Basic Golf Tournament with me later this year ,” he explained about the Hyype Space challenge, which runs until March 31, 2023.

Fans of the former Disney Channel star and the show can put their creative skills to the test by coming up with their own spells and creating effective 30-second video posts to grab the attention of Hyype Space users.

What mantra would David Henrie use in everyday life if he could? He told us he would love to use a time spell. “McReary-Time Reary messes with time and will let you do something, I’ll take it,” Henrie said with a laugh.

How to Enter

If you want to participate in the “Wizards of Waverly Place Spell Challenge”, be sure to download the Hyype Space app, available on the App Store and Google Play. Then, creators must come up with their own magic spell and create a 30-second video demonstrating the creative spell. Use props, clothes, and anything else you can to impress David Henrie.

Then, be sure to share your video with your friends and family because the video with the most “clap” will win a round trip for two to Post Falls in Idaho to participate in the 13th Annual Anna Schindler Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament — with David Henrie himself.

David Henrie became involved with the Anna Schindler Foundation after he participated in a golf tournament a few years ago.

“I remember meeting all kinds of families who benefited from it [The Anna Schindler Foundation] and I was very moved by those stories,” he told The Blast. “I didn’t realize that families had to, in a sense, be torn apart when one of their children got cancer.”

“For example, if you are married, and you have several children and one of them has cancer, one has to stay at home and work and the other family members have to go and help the child undergo treatment and that can take months or years and the family is quite divided,” he continued. “And they have to rent a house near the hospital because they are so far from their home and that can be very expensive.”

The Anna Schindler Foundation was founded by the Schindler family, whose daughter, Anna, unfortunately, lost her battle with cancer. With personal experience of having a child with this cancer, the Schindler Family understands those who may be undergoing childhood cancer treatment and the loss of income and family relocation they face.

“They really make a difference and they really help,” added Henrie. “And when I played in that golf tournament I met some families and I heard some testimonials, and it really moved me and it always stays in my heart and it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness and help give back to them and help fundraising.”

“Anyone who can donate anything, it will help someone. It goes straight to the kids and straight to the family.”
