Guy Fieri and 38 of his close friends all channeled it for the “Chefs for Maui” fundraiser, hosted at a private ranch in Sonoma County, California. During the event, the “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” star, along with her friends, hosted an 18-course dinner serving everything from porcini mushrooms to kanpachi poke, as per People magazine. “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan’s 6666 Ranch also prepared a 3.5-pound tomahawk steak for the occasion.

Portuguese rock band the Man performed at the event, Marc Summers served as MC, and Franco Finn auctioned items assembled by Guy Fieri’s wife Lori and friends. Donated items include a trip to the “Yellowstone” set, a Ryvid motorcycle, and dinner for a group of ten anywhere in the world, courtesy of Stephanie Izard, Joe Sasto and Shota Nakajima.

As for why he decided to host the event, Guy Fieri told People magazine that the gesture was like a “hug,” saying, “It’s like, ‘Hey, you’re brothers in business, we get you. We appreciate you. We know you’re sick.’ That’s what this one is.” Although she usually travels to Maui with her family this year, she decided to host the fundraiser.
“I’ve shot over 16 locations in Maui for my show, and I go to Maui with my family year after year for vacations. It’s a special place, and what makes it special is the people,” he told the magazine last August. “To think of people who love their island, and love their families, and make visitors feel welcome, we have to stop what we’re doing and do what we can to help them.”

According to the outlet, around 80 restaurants burned down in the Lahaina, Maui area. With $2,500 in tickets to the event, along with live and silent auctions, Guy Fieri’s “Chefs For Maui” event has helped the island’s homeless. Once he heard about how many restaurants the blazer had destroyed, the Food Network star said he got the idea to host the event through his Guy Fieri Foundation.
He said he texted about fifty friends with his idea and described the response as a “slot machine” that happened. “I’m in, I’m in. I will go there. I’ll be there,” he said of the response he received to his fundraising idea. “No one blinked when I asked them to help or get involved.” Some of the culinary legends involved in the event are Brooke Williamson, Kelsey Barnard Clark, Mei Lin, and Antonia Lofaso.

“I don’t think there’s ever been this much collective of chefs to this few people, with this many courses for this dire need at one time,” Guy said before the event began. “I think it’s going to be one of the most sensational events ever to happen in the food world.”
“I’m at this point in my life now where my biggest goal is what I can do with what I have for other people,” Guy added.

During a separate interview with People magazine, sons Guy Hunter and Ryder praised their father for making himself a force for good. “He always leads by example,” Hunter said. “Seeing how much he cares and how, even though he’s so busy all the time, he puts a lot of effort into doing fundraising. . . it opened my eyes.”
He recalled how Guy launched the Restaurant Workers Relief Fund while restaurants were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. It ended up raising over $25 million to help struggling workers in the industry.
“If you are the owner of the shovel, why don’t you help dig the hole?” Fieri said of his philanthropy. “I want to make a positive impact. When it’s all over, I just hope people say, ‘The man was good for humanity. Men help.’ “
The Guy Fieri Foundation is still accepting donations for Maui relief efforts on its website.
