Chaka Khan has apologized for her disparaging comments Rolling stones“Greatest Singers of All Time” list.
Khan was ranked 29th on the list but disagreed with her placement, slamming several artists who ranked higher than her, including Mariah Carey, Adele, and Mary J. Blige.
The singer didn’t know the list until recently but thought Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Beyoncé were placed accordingly.

Rolling Stone Releases ‘Greatest Singers of All Time’ List
On January 1, Rolling stones released a list of the “Greatest Singers of All Time”, ranking them from 1 to 200.
Topping the list is legendary “Respect” singer Aretha Franklin, whom the magazine company describes as “A force of nature. A work of genius. A gift from heaven.”
Other singers listed include Whitney Houston at No. 2, Mariah Carey at No. 5, Rihanna at No. 68, and The Weeknd at No. 110, with Khan at No. 29.
The publication notes that the list is “greatest singers” rather than “greatest voices”.
Chaka Khan Disagrees With The List

The “I’m Every Woman” singer found out about the list on a podcast, but that didn’t stop her from sharing her views on it, as she disagreed with some of the singers who ranked higher than her.
“That must be payola or something,” he said after learning that Mariah Carey came in at No. 5. He also said, “Okay, I quit!” when he was told that Adele was placed at No. 22.

“This is a blind sissy! They are blind like parent bats! They need hearing aids. These must be Helen Keller’s children!” shouted Khan as he slammed Rolling stoneslist.
He recalled the 1975 song, “Sweet Thing,” by his funk band, Rufus, complaining that Mary J. Blige had messed it up after she sang a version of the song on her 1992 debut album, “What’s The 411?”

The 10-time Grammy award-winning singer has now apologized for his comments about some of the singers who ranked higher than him on Rolling Stone’s “Greatest Singers of All Time” list.
Khan took to Instagram to share a lengthy note of apology, stating it was not his “intention to cause pain or inconvenience to anyone.”
The note read, “Recently, I was asked about a ‘greatest singer of all time’ list and instead of questioning the need for such a list, I was pitted against other artists and I took the bait.”
Khan continued, “As artists, we are unfairly put into ‘boxes’, ‘categories’ or into ‘lists.’ Being an artist or musician is not a competition. It is a gift, for which I am very grateful.”
He expressed his regret and apologized, saying, “It was not my intention to cause pain or inconvenience to anyone. To anyone who felt this way, I sincerely apologize. Thank you for all the love everyone has shown me, unconditionally.”
Chaka Khan Wants to Empower Artists

After sharing his note of regret, he revealed that he has been working in the background on initiatives that add value to people, especially artists.
“I always empower others and I started a foundation for that purpose,” he said. Khan continued, “Empowering all artists is paramount because we are truly the architects of change…and change begins in the heart.”
In chat with Entertainment Tonight, the singer shares some of the biggest life lessons she’s learned over time. He states that for any dream of anyone, there are only two options involved; you “will either realize it” or “crash and burn”.
Khan added, “You have to do it, it has to be done. Or you have to choose something else. Because a call is just a call. That easy. It’s bigger than you. So, you have to do it. And if you don’t, the post office is always hiring.”
