Chelsea Handler shared some shocking information! According to the comedian, he only realized that the sun is not the same as the moon at the age of 40.
During his appearance on “The Tonight Show,” he admitted that his early belief was that “when the sun goes down, it comes back as the moon.”
The comedian also revealed he found out his idea was wrong during a trip to Africa with his sister Simone.
He also shared that Simone called him about it while they were looking at the sky on their safari. The 47-year-old, who recently hosted the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards, previously revealed that fellow comic Jo Koy helped her stop hating men.

Handler shared with Fallon that she only realized that “the sun and the moon” were different planetary bodies at the age of 40.
Before that, he believed they were “the same thing” and had spent years living with false information. It seems that he also thought that everyone shared the same belief about the sun and moon as one body.
Shocked by his statement, Fallon shared his disbelief, saying, “I find this unbelievable, what are you talking about?”
The operator replied that finding out he was wrong was also a shocking moment for him at the time. “It surprised me, too,” he responded to Fallon’s statement.

“We are on safari,” he told his host. “And my older sister, Simone, looked up at the sky, and she said, ‘Chelsea, Chelsea, look up. It’s not always that you can see the sun and the moon at the same time,” adding that he replied to his sister, saying, “But they are always together.”
His answer shocked Simone and prompted her to seek clarification on what Handler meant. However, Handler “tried to ignore it,” but her sister wouldn’t take no for an answer and pressed for an answer.
“He said, “‘No. I need you to tell me what you think is going on between the sun and the moon,’” Handler recalled of her sister. “And I was like, ‘Honestly, I just assumed when the sun went down, it reappeared as the moon.’

Handler hosted the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards on January 15 and before the event, she shared that it will be a “different vibe” than the live stand-alone show.
He told Hollywood Reporter. “It’s definitely going to be a different atmosphere, but I’m trying to take everything I said yes to seriously today, and I want to respect everyone who has worked so hard to be in this business and to receive the nominations and make it a really fun night and energetic.”
He revealed that the recent criticism of the awards shows over the past few years made him feel a little pressured to host the ceremony. However, the comedian said he would use the pressure to “power up his performance” and “spread good vibes” to the audience.
He said, “My intention is just to have fun and make everyone feel comfortable and welcome – like they belong there.”

For the next relationship, the comedian shared that he has no plans to get pregnant and have children. “I had an opportunity to take care of the pregnancy, and I rejected the idea,” Handler said on the show.
