“Little People, Big World” stars Zach & Tori Roloff have officially announced that they will not be returning to the show after its current season.
Rumors previously suggested that the couple decided to leave the long-running series following a conflict with Roloff patriarch Matt over the family farm.
Tori & Zach Roloff Focus On Protecting Their Children’s Privacy
Tori and Zach officially confirmed on their new podcast, “Raising Heights,” that they will not be returning for Season 26.
In Thursday’s episode, they elaborate on their decision to depart nearly two decades after their debut when Zach was a teenager. Tori led the conversation, saying:
“Let’s just talk about the elephant in the room. Are we going back to ‘Little People, Big World’?” Zach replied, “We don’t. We explained that in the last cycle.”
Tori later added of the decision, “But I don’t think it’s been officially announced to people like we’re not going back to ‘Little People, Big World.’ We’re Done. That part of our lives, that chapter has been closed.”
Continuing the chat, Zach insisted that the news of their exit from the TLC series shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans, especially after the events depicted in recent seasons. In his words:
“I think that chapter has been closed regardless of whether we are asked to return or not. We explained that we were done with that chapter for various reasons. Because we made it clear enough, they didn’t technically ask us to come back, but this last cycle was difficult between the family, the farm deal, and we were done with it. We continue.”
Additionally, Tori and her man explained the factors that influenced their decision to leave the show. According to both of them, they have a desire to create some space from their family and prioritize the privacy of their three children — Jackson, Lilah and Josiah.
Luckily, fans can still catch Tori and Zach in Season 25 of “LPBW,” which premieres Tuesday, February 20.
Tori Roloff Informs Her Fans About Her & Zach’s Planned Out Over A Year Ago
Tori first hinted at the possibility of her and her immediate family leaving the show during a Q&A session with her Instagram followers in November 2022.
As The Blast noted at the time, she was asked if she and Zach would “stop filming” the show, to which she simply replied “Yes.” However, he did not offer further details or a timeline on their departure.
Then in December, a curious person asked her via DM during another Q&A, “How long do you plan to be on television? Thanks for sharing your life with us.” In response, the mother there wrote:
“I think our time is definitely coming to an end, but we’re trying to enjoy it while it’s here.”
One potential reason for the couple’s departure could be the family drama surrounding the sale of Roloff Farms.
Although Matt had initially negotiated a deal with Zach to take over the land in the 22nd season of the reality series, Zach ultimately decided not to buy it.
The father of three instead chose to move from Portland, Oregon, to Battle Ground, Washington, with Matt eventually listing the 16-acre property — including the home where he and his ex-wife, Amy, raised their children — for sale.
However, he took down the sale listing in October and announced plans to convert it into a rental property.
During the season 23 premiere in May of the same year, Tori revealed that the family drama had driven them apart from her father-in-law and her current fiancee, Caryn Chandler.
Notably, with the departure of the photographer and her husband from “LPBW,” none of Matt and Amy’s children remain on the show. ICYMI, Zach’s twin brother, Jeremy, and his wife, Audrey, announced their decision to leave the show in 2018. His other siblings, Molly and Jacob, pulled out in 2019.
