Cher has spoken out for the first time about her daughter-in-law’s scathing claims that she kidnapped her son, Elijah Blue Allman, 47.
In September, unearthed court documents revealed that the wife of Cher’s son, Marieangela King, accused the singer of hiring four men to kidnap her husband on their wedding anniversary.
King also accused Cher of kicking him out of the home he shared with Elijah and restricting his access to their assets.

Legendary music artist Cher became the subject of controversy when she revealed her daughter-in-law, Marieangela King, accused her of kidnapping her second son, Elijah Blue Allman, in a court declaration last December.
King claimed Cher was worried about her son’s health. This allegedly led to his forced intervention, where four people entered their hotel room to remove Elijah at the behest of the “Believe” singer.
He wrote, “On November 30, 2022, the night of our wedding anniversary, four people came to our hotel room and removed (Elijah) from our room. I was told by one of the four people who took his mother (Elia) hired them.”

In chat with People magazine, Cher said the allegations were “not true.” She went on to talk about her worries as a mother and why she would do everything to help Elijah.
“I haven’t had any problems that millions of people in the United States haven’t,” Cher said of her daughter’s struggle with addiction.
She continued, “I am a mother. It’s my job — one way or another, to try to help my kids. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do because that’s what being a mother is all about. But it’s joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think about your kids, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them.”
