With a long-running professional dance career that began as a teenager, Goodman was a beloved face to watch on the popular competition series “Strictly Come Dancing” from 2004 to 2016. However, in addition to being a great dancer, the late 78-year-old influenced several celebrities, including Burke.

The duo appeared together on “Dancing With the Stars,” with the dance teacher joining as a judge when the US competition premiered in 2005. Their time on the series created an unforgettable experience for the model, who spoke about Goodman’s death in Instagram post featuring five throwback images. The 38-year-old celebrity’s tone reflected her sadness as she wrote:

“There are not enough words to describe how much Mr. Len Goodman had such an impact on my life. From the time I was a teenager when he used to judge me in all the European dance competitions, I participated until the day we hugged each other when we both retired on @dancingwiththestars last season.”

After confirming that she’s her favorite “DWTS” judge, Burke went on to write, “A big reason why Dancing with the Stars is such a popular show that’s about teaching celebrities how to Ballroom Dance is because of you, your tough love, your no BS approach (which I appreciate ), and your belief in Ballroom technique but more importantly, because of how much you really care about the sport and how it is represented.”

He reiterated that the show gained momentum because of Goodman’s “influence, passion and love for the Ballroom genre” before concluding, “Thank you for changing my life and bringing joy to the millions of people who have watched us over the years.”

The post, which has received 35,000 likes so far, has been well received in the comments. While several people released heart emojis, one wrote, “Rest In Peace, Len. You will forever be a 10 in my book.”

“I have just woken up to the sad news that my lovely colleague and dear friend Len Goodman has passed away. My heart and love go out to Sue and her beautiful family. Len Goody Goodman is what I always called him, and “Ten of Len & Seveeeeern” will stay with me forever. RIP, Len.”

“Strictly” co-host Claudia Winkleman joined the list of sympathizers when she told BBC News, “There’s nobody like him because he’s so humble. He’s adorable — on camera, off camera, and to everyone involved.”

Goodman reportedly died on Saturday, April 22 — three days before turning 79 — following a battle with bone cancer.

When she exited “DWTS” last year, Burke made sure she dedicated a heartfelt message to her many celebrity friends who shared the dance with her. The model posted an Instagram reel set to the tune of the Goo Goo Dolls’ hit song, “Iris,” and it featured plenty of still frames of the 2005 San Francisco Latin Champion and 24 of her celebrity dance partners, including Rob Kardashian, Jack Osborne, Ian Ziering, and Terrell Owens.

The clip also highlights the television personality’s season two and three mirrorball trophy wins, which he shared with his dance partners — Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith, respectively. According to The Blast, he wrote below the video:

“To all my dance friends who have each played an important role in my life, THANK YOU. Thank you for the life lessons, for trusting me with your vulnerability, and for ALWAYS giving every dance you all.”
