For many people like Cheryl Burke, there is always a plan B when it comes to career choices!

The 39-year-old has been a dancer for more than half her life, most notably on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” “Dance Moms,” and “I Can Do That.” Although performing on the long-running ABC series is off the books, the joke is that the professional dancer once thought about life outside of dance.

In a new update on her IG Story, the 39-year-old TV star revealed that she would have pursued a career in Tennis if she hadn’t pursued dance. He wrote, “Always said that if I wasn’t chasing dance. I’m going to be a tennis player huh!”

As if to show off, the television host surrounded the message with a throwback photo of a much younger self on a tennis court. Like a pro, he holds a tennis rack while wearing a white visor with a white shirt, socks and shorts.

Burke’s low-key — or should we say show off — announcement comes about nine months after she announced her departure from the popular dance competition series as a professional dancer.

He has been a cast member on 26 seasons of the show concurrently, following the debut of its second season on January 5, 2006. The news came after the 31st season finale, throwing fans into a frenzy. But without fail, they praised the hard work and dedication of the dancers to give the audience a good time.

The model shared the statement using a snap of her in a gorgeous red ball gown. She appears to be dancing, with one hand raised above her head and the other turned to show her elbow. The striking image was followed by an extended caption that read:

“I’m sitting here full of conflicting emotions about the words I’m about to write… Tomorrow night will officially be my last dance as a pro dancer on @dancingwiththestars. This is one of the most difficult decisions of my life & I am also convinced that it is the right decision.”

“The cast, crew & fans have seen me through my highs & some of my lows, & I honestly don’t know who I am today without them,” wrote the two-time “DWTS” winner, admitting that the show has become a second family.

Burke also noted that this is the right time to start the “next phase” of her career, although dance will “always be a part” of it. Then she dedicated her last dance “to all of YOU who have supported me, loved me even though you didn’t know me, & who have been a huge part of my life, my growth and my story.”

According to reports, fans showered his comments with compliments and compliments. “You’re a shining star, Cheryl xoxo,” one excited fan commented, while another thanked her for “helping shape DWTS into the amazing show it is.”

After the Dance Comes the Show

Burke has now moved on to host her show “Diving Deep” since leaving the beloved dance competition series. Earlier this year, he revealed how the unique and interesting content came about. He opened his Instagram page to make an explanation. The long caption began:

“I am truly overwhelmed by the amount of love and excitement about Diving Deep. It means the world to me!”

The entrepreneur added that the show started during the COVID-19 lockdown when he explored and found a diamond painting. She went on to say, “The competitive ballroom dancer in me saw that rhinestones were involved, and it was love at first sight.”

In addition, the “I Can Do That” runner-up revealed that it was originally titled “All That Glitters.” She explained that she looks forward to the show every week as she learns something new about each friend. Of that goal, Burke wrote, “For once in my life, it’s not about the end goal, it’s about the present moment, here and now.”
