An Israeli American family of six killed by Hamas militants on Oct. 7. texting their relatives they were safe – only to send a heartbreaking message in their last minutes as they were murdered in their home.
“They are here. They are burning us. We are suffocating,” Yonatan (Johnny) Kedem Siman Tov texted his sister Ranae Butler, who lives in Israel, The Independent reported.
Tov, his wife Tamar Kedem-Siman Tov, 35, and their three children — 6-year-old twin girls Shahar and Arbel and 4-year-old son Omer — and his mother, Carol Siman Tov, 70, were all killed at the family home in Nir Oz, a kibbutz on the edge of Gaza.
The family fled to a “safe room” after Hamas militants fired rockets. Once inside, they texted family and friends that they were safe.
“Hey everyone, we’re in the shelter of our house, we’re all going to be fine,” Tamar messaged her loved ones.
But an hour later, the message stopped.
Hamas militants broke into their homes and shot them dead in their safe room.

“Our hearts are broken,” a family friend, Yishai Lacob, posted on Facebook, according to The Sun.
“Whole families were killed by evil killers who shot children and parents simply because they were Jewish. And this is just one story, among so many. Can not stand.”
