Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of her body-positive hit “Beautiful.” In celebration, he released a new video revealing the effects of social media on children.

The singer celebrated the release of her album Stripped 20 years ago. The 2002 sophomore album from the acclaimed vocalist featured the smash hit ‘Dirty’, the gritty hit, “Fighter”, and the female empowerment anthem, “Walk Away” in addition to “Beautiful”.
Aguilera or Xtina if ya Dirty, took to Instagram a week ago and teased that she will honor the album with a remake of one of her hit songs.

The singer kept his promise and shared the release of the new video with two IG posts. The first is a video of Xtina, her alter ego on the Stripped Tour. He wrote. “Being stripped gave me the strength and freedom as an artist to tell my story the way I wanted to, for the first time.”
He referenced one of his hits, “Fighter” writing, “Thank you to all my fighters around the world for amplifying that strength and giving me the space to continue to share myself in my true form. Today marks the celebration of #20YearsOfStripped, more will come 🖤”
The next post is another tease for a new video that simply reads, “Tomorrow 🤍,” accompanied by an extended clip of the new video featuring all the kids.

The release of the video comes with a new message for today’s teens and parents of teens. After a video featuring a group of kids playing and going through the motions of life’s negatives like worrying about looks, filters on phones, etc, a cell phone appears and it bleeds.
The words on the screen then read:
“In the last 20 years, since Stripped was first released, social media has changed our relationship with our bodies, and by extension, our mental health. Research suggests that time spent on social networking sites is linked to body image issues, self-harm and disordered eating in children and adolescents. This needs to change.”
The haunting ending of the video left followers shivering and made Aguilera once again, relevant AF with a 20-year-old song. The original video also discussed issues that plagued society at the time.
It featured two men kissing and a trans woman, which angered some but solidified the singer’s status as someone who DGAF!
He clearly maintains the same energy.
