Christina Aguilera Follows Britney Spears Over Backup Dancer DramaInstagram | Britney Spears

In her latest Instagram post shared on Monday, September 12, Britney shared a photo quote attributed to Rodney Dangerfield, reading, “I found out there’s only one way to look skinny: hang out with fat people.”

Although the comment was problematic, he later somehow dragged the “Genie In A Bottle” singer into the drama with a comment about his backup singer.

“I wish I could choose a nanny for my kids … my dancers … I mean if I had a Christina Aguilera dancer I would look so tiny ???… I mean why not talk about it ??” asked Britney.

“Don’t you think my confidence would be better if I could choose where I live, eat, who I call on the phone, date and who is on stage with me !!!” he wrote. “It’s hard sometimes now I see how much of my femininity was stripped back then and everyone sits and says nothing!!!”

“Anyway … I’m going to be here talking about things people NEVER talk about ??? !!!” he added. It’s not clear what people are “EVER talking about” or whether it’s related to his 13-year suffocating conservatorship, but either way, his followers aren’t fans of his captions or insensitive messages.

One fan commented, “This one is a no” which sparked a long debate in the comments of his post. “I don’t understand isn’t he always body positive? Did he write this? It’s kind of unbelievable?,” said another follower.

Fans Debate Whether Britney Meant To Protect Christina In Controversial Post

“Being a hole is not a good look for anyone. it’s cruel Christina and her dancers didn’t hurt him. He should be called out,” shared another follower. “He doesn’t need to name xtina. It’s a bad look,” another fan agreed. “Her father is ashamed that she is not Christina and her dancer. It’s a bad look.”

Some followers felt that Britney wasn’t trying to shade “Lady Marmalade” at all, with one fan writing, “She meant that Christina is lucky she has the freedom to pick and choose her. [show’s] employee. Britney says she doesn’t and feels that her family chooses dancers who are smaller than her aka Britney so she looks fat etc.

Another fan seemed to agree, writing, “maybe I’m wrong but I think she’s just sharing her feelings when they pick a dancer that makes her look worse standing next to them. I don’t think it’s a bash against Xtina, but rather a comparison of how little control she has.”

‘Pity Parties Can Only Last So Long’

In recent days, Britney has been quite vocal about the trauma she endured during her 13-year suffocating conservatorship, even telling her parents they could both “go to hell” in a now-deleted Instagram post. It’s been less than a year since the conservatorship ended, but some fans feel that he needs to move on with his life and stop dwelling on the past.

“Oof. Love Britt- but this is not good. Body shaming to make yourself feel better isn’t where it belongs,” commented one fan, to which another follower responded, “oh but she feels justified because her freedom has been taken away?? so mess up other people’s feelings?? He needs to grow up and focus on his son.”

“Yes, I agree. I know it’s easy to say but he needs to learn how to move on. The pity party can only last so long,” said another follower.

Other fans still feel that Britney means well. “I’m sure she doesn’t like how she’s made to feel ‘unfit’ and insecure with all the fit looking dancers her team has chosen for her,” another follower wrote. “On the other hand, if dancers of different sizes are chosen, people can focus on other dances/sth. But yes, he may have chosen the wrong quote.”
