People like Owens need to be taught the value of remaining silent on subjects they don’t understand, and the People’s Choice Award winner took it upon herself to educate the 33-year-old.
Take to Twitter in the early morning hours of March 23, the California native responded to a political commentator’s “appalling” comments about SKIMS’ inclusion collection for people with disabilities. He began his applause with a message that read:
“Yes, late tweet. But wake up to see the most horrible thing. This Candace person made a comment about a company that saw us need help. It’s cruel. I thank skims and Tommy and Guide beauty, and @neowalksticks for seeing us. To you #youshouldknowbetter.”
The 51-year-old stated in a follow-up tweets that his “anger” kept him from sleeping and used the opportunity to educate Owens. The blonde bombshell explained that Kardashian’s accessible clothing is a blessing to her community given “how hard it is” to dress as a person with a disability.

Despite his anger, Applegate chose to be the bigger person and send a third message to conservatives. “I thought my last tweet was enough. But then my heart said otherwise,” the TV personality began.
“Do not be angry. If Candace wants to call me on the phone to be educated about disability. I will not come with anger. I will come with love because he needs to hear it. I pray for him tonight. Sincerely,” the mother of one wrote.
In response to this message, the “Blackout” author claimed he would welcome a discussion with the “Vacation” star, describing himself as a fan of the actress. However, in a second tweet, Owens tried to justify his criticism of the Kardashian inclusivity ad.
The Stamford native explained, “I think Christina, what you may have missed is that covering DEI’s ridiculous initiatives is a recurring beat on my show. We didn’t know that this particular ad featured specific technology designed for people with disabilities, which was an honest mistake.”

He stated in a third message that he thought it was “another ridiculous ‘question of representation’ DEI initiative, adding, “We created a 5-day-a-week plan. It is an impossibility that we will not at some point make an honest mistake. Concluding his defense, Owens wrote, “If you feel personally targeted by this mistake, I apologize to you. We just didn’t know (the ad didn’t state) that the underwear was created for disabled access.”
Despite the reason, Applegate’s last tweet read, “Thank you @skims for showing how beautiful the disability community is. And for your adaptive line for those of us with mobility issues. Not sure how you can’t appreciate this and consider it an ‘honest mistake.’”

As previously reported, Owens took a jab at the Kardashian brand’s inclusivity ad during the latest episode of his “Blackout” podcast. A clip from his podcast show, which went viral on Twitter, caught the 33-year-old stating that he doesn’t understand “the inclusivity thing.”
The pro-Trump media personality declared that he didn’t understand why SKIMS needed to advertise underwear using people with disabilities, saying “I don’t really understand how far we’re going to take this inclusive thing. I really don’t understand, and I don’t know if I’m wrong anymore; educate me.”
Media personalities continue to mock the idea, painting a scenario where people on crutches refuse to buy underwear because there is no advertisement for their community.
“You know what upsets me? I’ve never really seen a bra and panty advertise a girl in a wheelchair,” she lamented before sarcastically adding, “How come we don’t have a girl with a broken leg on crutches also in a bra and panty? ‘I don’t think it’s included.’”

This isn’t the first time pro-Trump supporters have shared controversial opinions. However, his latest comments may stem from his issues with Kardashian. Last year, the mother-of-two slammed the beauty mogul for being an entertainer who profits from the sale of sex.
Owens described the KKW Beauty founder as a “whore” and slammed her mother for being a “mob”. She also upset Kardashian by wearing a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt with her ex-husband Kanye “Ye” West.
