Christina Hall Recalls Last Mother’s Day Rocked With ‘Unnecessary Custody Battle’

Christina Hall’s last Mother’s Day is not something she would wish on her worst enemy!

The television personality spent much of the last year battling in court with her ex-husband, Ant Anstead, over custody of their child, Hudson London Anstead. The former couple finally agreed to “continue to have joint physical and legal custody” in December 2022, as they initially did in June 2021. The two, who separated in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2021, agreed to a vacation schedule with “exception” to the original arrangement.

To celebrate Mother’s Day this year, Hall chose to reflect on the “unnecessary” drama she and Anstead got into in 2022. To that end, the former “Flip or Flop” star shared a sweet selfie of herself and her three children — Hudson , Taylor and Brayden, along with a long caption with nearly two million followers.

Kicking things off, she wrote that it’s “crazy how much life can change in a year,” noting that she was “in a terrible place” this past Mother’s Day. “Going through very unnecessary custody battles, family issues, dealing with health issues- among other things. In all of this, we were stranded for a while and are in the process of moving to a temporary rental,” continued the mother of three.

The HGTV star later expressed how emotional she was to see that the owner of their rental property had left her an “amazing care package” that included “gifts for the kids, my favorite champagne and a sweet note.”

In her words, she had “started crying” when she saw the package on the kitchen island and immediately fled to “the first room I saw (the laundry room)” to avoid “upsetting” others.

During a later conversation with the landlord, Hall learned that the latter “understood” what he was going through because he had a similar experience. The “Buddy vs. Duff” special guest noted that it “felt really good” to talk to someone who could relate to his pain, adding:

“When I think about this now it still makes my eyes water. It was a gift from God at that time. No one I knew could understand what I was going through so to meet someone who got it and who could talk me through it was truly life changing.

Fortunately, things are starting to change for the “Christina: Stronger by Design” host, who concluded, “Happy Mother’s Day, no matter where you are in life or what’s going on, stay positive- Everything can change in a year!”

As expected, Hall’s fans took to the comments section to drop encouraging anecdotes and appreciate his flaws, with this netizen writing, “Thanks for sharing! No one talks about how difficult the detention situation is and the toll it takes!”

“You truly deserve the best, and I’m so grateful that we get to deal with this life thing together,” commented a second, and a third declared, “You’re an amazing mom and an inspiration to so many working moms out there .”

Fans of the “Brother vs. Brother” judge previously defended her after her ex-husband labeled her a “bad mom” during their custody battle last year. The Blast reported in April 2022 that the British television presenter claimed in his lawsuit that his ex-wife had created a “dangerous environment” for their son while using him as a social media puppet.

She went on to claim that her ex was an absentee parent who only spent an average of “9 full days per month” over 20 months with their three-year-old son.

Hall & Anstead Reach Agreement After ‘Unnecessary Custody Battle’

As noted above, Hall and Anstead reached an agreement in December with some changes to the holiday schedule. According to documents obtained by The Blast, the decision reads:

“For Thanksgiving, Hudson will be with his mother on even years and with his father on odd years from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to the following Monday. For Christmas, he would stay with Anstead in odd years — 23 to 25 — plus a week off during his school holidays as long as Hall was given a written note for the holiday planned on or before December 1 of that year and vice versa. “

The couple is expected to keep the same pattern for other holidays like Easter Sunday and Halloween — even years for the automaker and odd years for the “Christina in the Country” star — and then switch on July 4. Thanks to the settlement, the case could not go to trial, the date of which was set for March of this year.
