Citibank has fired one of its employees after he posted a “rebellious” comment on Instagram advocating the mass killing of Jews during the Holocaust.
“No wonder Hitler wanted to get rid of them all,” Nozima Husainova wrote with a smiley face emoji in an Instagram Story, which has since been deleted along with the 25-year-old’s Instagram and other social media accounts.
The post is a screenshot shared to Xpreviously Twitter, late Wednesday by nonprofit watchdog StopAntisemitism, who also posted a photo of his Instagram profile, which has more than 4,500 followers.
Husainova had written the explosive comments in response to a post about a Gaza hospital bombing that was initially blamed on Israel, but was later revealed to have been caused by the Islamic Jihad terrorist group after her operatives mistakenly fired a rocket.
The investment bank confirmed to The Post that Husainova was fired following the remarks, which were previously reported by the Daily Mail.
“We have terminated the employment of people who made inflammatory antisemitic comments on social media. We condemn antisemitism and all hate speech and intolerance at our bank,” a Citi spokesperson said.
Nozima Husainova, 25, recently graduated with a degree in finance and had only worked at Citi for two years before sharing the comments, which her former employer called “rebellious.” LinkedIn/Nozima Husainova Husainova appears to support the Holocaust in this Instagram Story, which got her fired from an investment bank.Twitter/@StopAntisemites
Critics on social media denounced Husainova’s support of the Holocaust as “vile,” “unbridled antisemitism.”
Following the news of his dismissal, StopAntisemitism sent to X: “Thank you Citi for saying NO! to antisemitism,” while other users expressed gratitude that the bank “did the right thing.”

Husainova could not be reached for comment.
According to Husainova’s now-deleted LinkedIn page, she graduated from CUNY Brooklyn College in June 2021 with a degree in finance before landing a job as a personal banker at Citi, a role “to foster relationships with clients to build loyalty and help increase sales to individual consumer clients, ” according to the bank.
According to recruitment website Glassdoor, the average Citi employee in Husainova’s role takes home just under $75,000 a year.
Husainova had held an entry-level position for the Wall Street firm for just two years before being fired.
Citi’s firing of Husainova comes after a mob of business executives threatened to deny employment to a Harvard student who signed a letter blaming Israel for violent attacks by Hamas.
Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman led the initiative, doubling down on his demand that Harvard release the list of signatories to the controversial letter, which failed to publicly condemn Hamas.
“If you were running a business, would you hire someone who blames the heinous acts of a terrorist group on the victims?” Ackman, founder of New York hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management, shared to his X account last week. “I do not think so.”
Although his call to the student was slammed as a “distraction,” the 57-year-old brushed aside the criticism — and at least a dozen business executives backed Ackman.
Among them: Jonathan Newman, CEO of salad chain Sweetgreen; David Duel, CEO of healthcare services firm EasyHealth; and Ale Resnik, CEO of Belong, a rental housing startup.

Meanwhile, a New York City emergency room doctor was also fired for his controversial social media post praising the Hamas massacre at a music festival in southern Israel, saying the attack gave Israel “a taste of their own medicine.”

Dr. Dana Diab — an emergency room physician with Lenox Hill Hospital and Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center, according to NYC Health + Hospitals — shared video of the brutal Oct. 7 attack on her Instagram Story.
“The Zionist settlers got a taste of their own medicine,” he wrote, according to a screenshot shared by StopAntisemitism at X on Monday.

The second snap shows Diab’s Instagram profile, which has since gone private — where the doctor has more than 600 followers and has a Palestinian flag emoji in the bio.
The deeply divisive pro-Palestinian post comes as Israel and its enemies enter the 12th day of their war.
As of Thursday, at least 3,000 Palestinians and 1,400 Israelis had been killed, according to the Wall Street Journal.
