Cole Sprouse’s first official interview with Alex Cooper about “Call Her Daddy” is in the books!
The entire interview is a gold mine of information about Sprouse’s life as a child actor, the trials and tribulations he and his identical twin, Dylan Sprouse, faced and the drama that comes with fame.
Cole Sprouse Dives Deep Into His Childhood

Sprouse first dived into his upbringing. He and Dylan were born in Italy and around the age of one his mother and father separated. They had moved to California and their mother pushed them into the entertainment industry.
The twins quickly became a hot commodity and appeared in Adam Sandler’s “Friends” and “Big Daddy.”
However, things change when their mother basically blows up their childhood careers, and a judge grants their father forced custody.
“You mentioned that when you got ‘Suite Life of Zack & Cody,’ it was a lifeline. How will your father prevent you from going down that bad path?” asked Cooper. “So, before ‘Suite Life,’ where were you two [Cole & Dylan] mentally?”

“Oh man, I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this. Um, because in many ways I was lucky that it wasn’t discussed. But when my father was given forced custody, uh, we lost everything from the youngest part of our careers. Um, it would be ‘Friends,’ ‘Big Daddy,’ and more,” he revealed. “My mom is an incredibly wonderful, artistic woman, but she’s the most financially irresponsible person. So, we don’t really have a lot.”
Sprouse explained that his father’s blue-collar lifestyle was a life and career saver.
“We moved in with our father, who was a blue-collar guy, and we lived under a wonderful Russian couple named Helen and Vadeem in their backyard,” Sprouse explained. “The prospect of that consistency of money alone changed the lives of not only me and my brother at the time, but also my father.”
Cole No More Relationship With His Mother
The “Riverdale” actress loves her father saying that he was their biggest supporter, and guided them with a “gentle yet firm hand” towards this kind of moral compass for “who I am today.”
Another factor in their success from being child actors to adult actors is their desire to play video games and stay out of trouble.
Neither is a big party considering their looks.

“We are 13 years old, but look eight. I am 16 years old and look 10 years old. I have fatigue and look like a little Dutch girl,” the 30-year-old joked.
Cooper basically asks Sprouse how he feels now about his mom losing all their money.
Sprouse is surprisingly understanding of his mother’s financial problems.
“I don’t blame him. He is human. I think in many ways we are more or less immune to the trappings of success and everyone has their own personal navigation through that,” he said. “… I’m sorry in many ways that he couldn’t get out of it, but I don’t blame him at all because he’s human and he’s an artist. So, I think it’s really funny, because artists… most of us just get into art because we’re crazy enough.”
Despite forgiving his mother, he admits he has no relationship with her at all. He believed he was a bit out of his mind.

Sprouse revealed that it was only three years ago that he finished paying the bills for his family.
“Oh man, um, three years ago. When I hit it big with ‘Riverdale’… I also love my dad very much. He put a lot of his life into making sure that me and my brother were OK, and I owe him a lot for that,” Sprouse said. “And if that comes through a financial conversation, then so be it.”
