Country music artist Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi Dugal McCreery, have just announced the birth of their first child. The two got married in 2018 after knowing each other all their lives and starting their romantic relationship six years earlier.
Scotty revealed that they met each other in kindergarten and officially started dating in their senior year of high school. After tying the knot, the couple reportedly took time to travel and explore before taking steps to expand their family.

The caption of the post read, “Never known love like this. Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 Ibs 13oz nothing but love. Thank you all for your prayers throughout this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and healthy mama! Praise God.”
The pictures show a newborn baby and his healthy mother in a hospital bed. The couple announced the pregnancy earlier this year and revealed that the initial delay was because they wanted to experience life alone.

Scott joins the June interview with Many people, where she mentions pregnancy. There he explained that the couple had always talked about children but wanted to do it at the right time. Scott said they decided to expand their family after hitting the road for a while and experiencing life.
“We got a little guy on the way. Uncharted waters for us, but we can’t wait to dive in and meet the little guy,” said the “American Idol” alum. “We always knew we wanted kids, but we always knew we wanted the first few years to travel and have time on the road, to see things and experience life.”
“We’ve lived a lot of lives and done some interesting things, so it seemed like now would be a good time to settle down a bit and grow a family,” Scott added.

Later in the interview, Scott revealed that they are considering taking another bus and building a nursery for Merrick in an effort to see how the baby reacts to the trip. “I think we’ll take another bus out and try to make a little nursery for it,” said the “Damn Strait” artist.
“It might not be every week, and we’ll see how the baby takes life, but it’s good, just selfish, to have Gabi and the baby there with me,” Scotty continued. “I don’t want to miss anything with him growing up.”
According to the artist, although the family was ready for the birth, they were surprised by the gender of the child. Scotty explained that he was the only boy on both sides of his family, and Gabi had two sisters in her, so they naturally thought she was a girl.
