Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears after just fourteen months of marriage but it looks like it may not be happening after all.
The two met on the set of the “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and got engaged in September 2021, just months before a 13-year conservatorship was dropped by a judge in November 2021. The two tied the knot in June 2022 in a star-studded wedding in Thousand Oaks ranch, but their marriage was hit by reports of trouble almost immediately.
The two were filmed without their wedding rings on in March, and in May, a documentary released on Hulu claimed that the two were prone to shouting matches and fights that could turn “physical.” On August 16, the Iranian actress filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” He listed their separation date as July 28, 2023, and asked for both spousal support and attorney fees.
According to a new document, obtained by The Blast, the court warned the former famous couple that it will reject the divorce altogether.

On October 27, the court ordered Britney Spears and Sam Asghari to divorce or warned that it would be rejected. At this point, Britney has yet to respond to the case and Sam has not indicated he has served the Princess of Pop with the divorce.
This is extremely rare and occurs in some cases where there is hope for the couple to reconcile.
Fans have been hoping that the two will reconcile in the comments of Sam’s recent Instagram post, while Britney has left him on disability in the middle of producing her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
Since the memoir was written before the divorce, the “Girl In The Mirror” singer had nothing but positive things to say about the actress. “I have appreciation because he is stable. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote, recalling how she was “immediately smitten” with him from the moment they met. “I knew I wanted him in my life right away,” she added. “The chemistry with us at first was crazy. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other.”
On Wednesday evening, the 29-year-old actress was asked by paparazzi how she felt about her ex’s new book. “I’m so proud of him, and I hope he takes over the world,” she said, per Page Six. When asked about the part where he called it a “gift from God,” Sam added, “That makes me smile, to be honest.”

A May 2023 TV special called “Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom” made a lot of allegations about the pop star, but one of the saddest involved her soon-to-be ex-husband.
“We’re told Britney has gotten physical with Sam and shouting matches often occur. We were also informed that the situation had become so volatile, security had to take over. Our source says Sam doesn’t stay at their house much anymore and it’s very worrying because of how dependent he is on her.”
Hours before news of their divorce broke, sources said Sam had accused Britney of cheating on him. A source later told ET that the pop star “insists she’s not cheating,” adding, “The two didn’t get along for a while and it ended after a big blowup.”
“He has denied any allegations of cheating and is going through a lot of emotions,” the source told the outlet. “He was hurt because the situation brought up old feelings for him.

Unfortunately, there appears to be bloodshed between the couple, as a source told Page Six that the 29-year-old actor is reportedly “trying to negotiate concessions outside of his prenup and threatening to reveal deeply embarrassing information about Britney unless she gets paid.”
Sam is represented by attorney Neal Hersh, while Britney hires high-powered divorce attorney Laura Wasser to represent her. Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has hired a family lawyer to draft a prenuptial agreement before the wedding. It is unlikely that a judge will invalidate a prenup; however, it’s possible that Britney will agree to a settlement to put the matter behind her.
Days after her divorce, the “Toxic” singer took to Instagram to share a video of her dancing around her living room. In the caption, she admitted that she was “a little shocked” by the divorce and admitted that she tried to make her life on Instagram look “perfect” when that was far from the case.
