Courteney Cox Has An Iconic Thanksgiving Gift For ‘Friends’ Fans

Courteney Cox is bringing nostalgia this Thanksgiving by giving fans one last look at an iconic recreated scene from the beloved sitcom “Friends”!

The Hollywood veteran, best known for her role as Monica Geller on the NBC series, marked the holiday with an emotional video from the ’90s show. In the shuttle broadcast, the Alabama beauty killed two birds with one stone by paying tribute to her late co-star Matthew Perry and touching fans with one of her most famous moments.

Fans of the series “Friends” may remember the important thing that changed the relationship between the characters of Cox and Perry — Monica Geller and Chandler Bing. In the episode “The One With All The Thanksgiving,” Chandler confesses his love to Monica after Monica’s hilarious attempt to gain her forgiveness.

The 59-year-old character wore a turkey on his head with glasses and a bowler hat before doing a little rocking dance that stole the hearts of Chandler and the audience. Cut to 2023, the “Scream” star commemorated Thanksgiving on her Instagram page with a video recreating this hilarious moment.

“Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I feel so grateful,” the TV personality captioned the clip. Cox fooled fans with her cheerful smile before zooming in on her lips and ranting about how tired she was of receiving gifs of her turkey head dance. In the words of the performer:

“Also, if I get another god— gif with a turkey on my head dancing like an idiot, I’ll just snap. So anyway, since I’m the symbol of Thanksgiving, here you go. May it please you.”

Then the Alabama native reappeared with a turkey on his head, and it had sunglasses attached to it but no plastic cup cap. However, the 59-year-old graced fans with a similar rocking dance from an episode of “Friends” with the show’s iconic theme song playing in the background.

As noted, the “Cougar Town” actress’ post was a throwback video from 2020, which she confirmed in the caption. “Looking back to 3 years ago… Probably wouldn’t do it again. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!” The TV personality wrote, with her sweet gesture receiving a positive response from fans.

Many were emotional about the post, given Perry’s death, while others thanked Cox for recalling one of her most famous moments from the sitcom series. “You’re so amazing, I LOVE YOU,” one declared to another’s roar: “I thought how has it been 3 years?!”

A third person noted that the late actor would have loved the post, writing: “Matt is laughing over there right now.” One Perry fan lamented: “This makes me sad and happy at the same time.”

“Never forget. Happy Thanksgiving, CC!” One social media user wrote, while another described the post as “ICONIC.” One fan claimed the mother-of-one “must make me happy,” and a fellow fan said: “Couldn’t love this more. Happy Thanksgiving CC!”

The mother of one said this was one of her favorite scenes with the late actor because it was initially a one-night stand that became an important part of Monica and Chandler’s love story. “I am so grateful for every moment I have with you, Matty, and I miss you every day,” the actress captioned.

“When you work with someone as close as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments that I wish I could share. Right now, this is one of my favorites,” the Coquette Productions founder continued, adding:

“Chandler and Monica were supposed to make love one night in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story.”

The “Family Ties” star explained that apart from this scene being an important moment in his character’s love life, it is a very precious memory because of the comedy antics of the late actor. “In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say,” Cox revealed, “He does that kind of thing a lot. He’s funny, and he’s kind.”
