Are you making full use of your Costco Wholesale membership?
One Costco customer used social media to show members what they might be missing out on when it comes to their wholesale membership.
Ravi Wadan, a self-labeled financial educator, posted a video on TikTok showing viewers an arguably hidden treasure that some may not know about: gift cards at a lower price.
At Costco.com, Costco members can purchase bundles of gift cards to various stores, airlines and restaurants for less than the amount on the actual card.
“I’m surprised how many people don’t know this, but Costco.com actually sells gift cards to some of your favorite places at a discount,” Wadan shared on his TikTok, which has garnered over 513,000 views.
For example, a member can purchase a $100 gift card for several different restaurants at a discounted rate of $80.
Southwest travelers can enjoy spending just $450 on a $500 gift card.
Some higher cards are limited per membership.
Many Costco fans were quick to comment on Wadan’s TikTok, asking various questions and praising him for his money-saving invention.
“Is there any extra charge to buy or activate it??,” asked one commenter. Waden responded by saying that there was no payment.
“I’ve had Costco for ages and I never paid attention,” commented another TikTok user.
“And then you pay with a 5% cash back card for even more savings,” says one reviewer.
Various TikTokers shared their passion for Starbucks and Apple gift cards, as well as Disney gift cards.

One commenter posed the question, “How do they make money off of this?”
Wadan shared that he doesn’t “really know the optics behind it,” but that shouldn’t stop anyone from getting this deal.
“If you’re not checking out gift cards at Costco.com, you’re not getting the most out of your Costco membership,” Wadan said at the end of his video.
