A 7-year-old boy declared his Dallas bus driver a “hero” when he saved his life after swallowing a quarter.
Preston, whose name has not been released, was laughing with friends moments before bus surveillance footage showed him putting something in his mouth.
The Seagoville North Elementary School student, who thought she was going to throw up on Sept. 29, rushed over to her driver Raquel Radford Baker.
“He looked sick, like he was going to throw up,” Baker told “GMA.” “I opened the door and I said: ‘Go ahead and puke.'”

Moments later, she’ll tell him there’s a coin at his throat and Baker springs into action, grabbing Preston and doing the Heimlich as he rushes to the sidewalk.
“He can’t die in my arms, I have to save his life,” he said thinking.

“He’s my hero,” he told “GMA.” “He saved my life … He’s an angel.”
On Thursday, Preston, his mother and Baker had a reunion, where his tearful mother thanked Baker for saving Preston.
It was the first time Baker had to save a child’s life, he said.
As for Preston, he vowed to keep the coin out of his mouth.
