Days after suffering a heart attack mid-game, NFL star Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital. The star suffered a heart attack on Jan. 2 during the Buffalo Bills’ game with the Cincinnati Bengals. Medical personnel treated Hamlin on the field, after which he was rushed to the hospital.
Although Hamlin had to be revived twice, the first time on the field and the second time in the hospital, the NFL player was declared in stable condition a short time later. Hamlin also took to social media a few days ago to reassure fans that he is doing well and thank them for their outpouring of love and support.

The Buffalo Bills have just announced that Hamlin has been released from Buffalo General Hospital after a health issue. The star will continue his recovery at home with his family. Hamlin has been resting in the hospital since Monday Night Football’s game with the Bengals more than a week ago.
“Damar Hamlin has been discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, a Kaleida Health facility in Buffalo, NY,” the Bills’ statement said per Daily Mail. “Hamlin was admitted on Monday and underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation and a series of heart, nerve and vascular tests on Tuesday.”
The Bills’ news release also quoted a message from Dr. Jamie Nadler, who revealed that several tests and evaluations were conducted on NFL players before the decision. “We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and after consulting with team physicians, we are confident Damar can be safely released,” Nadler said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Hamlin explained his progress in a tweet. He revealed that he has not yet been discharged and is still undergoing some necessary medical tests. He write, “Not home yet. Still doing and passing a bunch of tests. Special thanks to Buffalo General; it’s nothing but love since arrival! Keep me in your prayers everyone, please! #3 strong.”
Hamlin was transferred to Buffalo General Medical Center recently from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after spending the past week at the center. Doctors stated that the NFL star has seen a “remarkable recovery.”
Hamlin also revealed that he left the facility with “a lot of love in my heart.” He continued, “Seeing the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling. The same love you all showed me is the same love I plan to give back to the world n more. Bigger than football!”

In one post, Hamlin referenced the “great care” given to him by UC Medical Center staff and thanked them for making him comfortable. She wrote, “Grateful for the great care I received at UCMC. Happy to be back in Buffalo. The doctors and nurses at Buffalo General have made me feel right at home!”
In appreciation, the NFL star has launched a series of t-shirts where the proceeds will go to the UC Medical Center. All shirts have “Did we win?” emblazoned on them, quoting Hamlin’s first words when he regained consciousness after a heart attack.
“We all won. I want to repay an ounce of the love you all have shown me. The proceeds of this shirt will go to first responders and the UC Trauma Center. Go get yours!” he announced on social media. Hamlin has a history of giving back and has hosted charity toy drives that help raise money for his local community.

Hamlin’s heart attack on Jan. 2 occurred after Buffalo Bills safety Tackle Tee Higgins, the opposing team’s receiver. When he got up from his tackle, he stood for a moment before falling back to the ground. Members of the Bills training staff attended to him and tried to revive him on the field.
Hamlin was announced to be in critical condition after; however, his condition improved to stable before it was known that he had regained consciousness. NFL games, on the other hand, were first suspended and then postponed before being canceled outright.
The NFL star took to social media a few days ago to thank fans for showing their love and support while he was in the hospital.
