Damian ‘Dame Time’ Lillard can now compete for basketball championships!
The months-long standoff between the point guard and the Portland Trail Blazers finally ended, with Lillard traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team deal involving the Bucks and Phoenix Suns. Not only did the news get cheers from fans, but it also earned the NBA star a congratulatory message from rapper Snoop Dogg.

The Trail Blazers certainly made a notable blockbuster trade by sending Lillard to the Bucks as part of a recently finalized deal. In return, they got Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, and Toumani Camara, a 2029 first-round pick from the Bucks, and two trade picks in 2028 and 2030.

News of the 33-year-old’s addition to the team was shared in a collaborative Instagram reel featuring snippets of the various games he mastered. In the clip, which includes the sound of YoungBoy’s Never Broke Again 2022 hit, “Don’t Rate Me,” in the background, a voice is heard saying:

As the video progresses, another voice is heard stating, “Damian Lillard on our team? He’s going to close the game,” before one commentator stated, “He’s telling them about ‘Dame Time.’” The reel closes with an image of the man at the time rocking his Bucks uniform.
While the words at the top of the frame read, “Welcome to Milwaukee,” the words at the bottom bear his name. In addition to over 200,000 likes, the post has also garnered nearly 2,000 comments from excited basketball fans.

Gratitude for Lillard’s move to the Bucks grew after Snoop shared his own congratulations. Via Instagram, the famous rapper and actor uploaded footage of him enjoying a smoke in a car with an all-black interior. He said:
“D— Lillard to the Bucks? that’s nice Go East, nephew. Ball out. You’ve got Gannis in your squad now,” the 51-year-old began before making a scowl and adding, “The East goes bad.”
After he quit smoking, the “Young, Wild & Free” hitmaker spoke with his team, the Los Angeles Lakers. He said, “Lakers, we know what we’re going to do. But congratulations to my niece Dame Lillard. Dame Time, go fetch your nephew.”
At this point, Snoop took a moment to show off his slick dance moves, moving his shoulders in rhythm to the Tems singer’s single, “Free Mind.” After he finished, he explained that he likes it when “a ballplayer gets his money’s worth” and appreciates the NBA for “keeping an eye” on Lillard.
