The couple recently went public with their relationship with Rae posting a preview clip of their upcoming episode in season 2 of the show where Dan will be in a relationship with Shauna.
Dan recently posted numerous pictures of Shauna on Instagram before insisting on defending their relationship in a video. Shauna has struggled with dating for a long time; the petite personality recently told Position that she is not valued and excluded because of her appearance.
“If you look at me, you’re looking at an 8-year-old,” he said New York Post. “But I think if you take the time to look at the details in my face, in my hands, the maturity in my body – and I think if you take the time to talk to me – you really understand that I’m a 23-year-old.”
Dan said in his clip that after watching Rae’s first season on television, he sent her flowers. They soon met in person and went on several dates.
“It’s really important to remember that Shauna is an amazing 23-year-old woman with a disability,” he explained. “So as you build a relationship with him, it’s important to acknowledge his disability and look at the past and build it into who he is as an individual.”
“But dare you take away his right, his basic right, to have relationships, friendships, relationships with other people? Who are you to say that he can’t have it?” he added.
However, the budding relationship has received some backlash from the public. Some claimed that she was “sick” of dating someone who looked like an 8-year-old. Others have labeled her “creepy” for being romantically involved.
“I didn’t really think about whether Dan and I were in a relationship and what that would look like,” Shauna said on the show. “I assumed we’d probably try long distance, but I’ve been in long distance relationships. This is not my cup of tea.”
Dan stated that the way people treat the reality stars and their friendship makes him “Absolutely disgusted.” “I can’t believe some people are denying him the right to have friendships or relationships with other people,” he said. “He’s a human being, he’s a cancer survivor, he has a disability, he suffers from dwarfism. Who are you to take away his right to have friendship and relationship with someone? How dare you? How dare you?”
“I did the show knowing I was going to get some hate but it’s really important to remember that Shauna is an amazing 23-year-old woman with a disability,” Dan continued in the post. “So as you build a relationship with him, it’s important to acknowledge his disability and look past that and build it into who he is as an individual.”
And continued in the video, “As soon as you say she can’t have real-world relationships with other people, you’re being inhumane to her. She’s a human being. She’s entitled to have relationships and relationships with whoever she wants.”
“Shauna and I are still good friends to get to know each other. But I think it’s really disgusting how some people are,” Dan shared in the video. “He has been through so much in life. He survived cancer as a child, he always felt different and was treated differently by society.”
Before Shauna, he had one relationship that was shared publicly. Her name is Camille Biagini. They were together in July 2019 but haven’t shared much since then.

Dan is the CEO and founder of travel app Alpacr. He was also named as one of the 10 best founders under the age of 25 by Beauhurst. At the age of 24, Dan was able to fundraise £185k and achieve a pre-money valuation of £1.85m for Alpacr, which runs a social network for travel enthusiasts.
The Alpacr team launched the app across Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas, and is looking to expand its presence globally. The company ran from 2017 to 2021. He also founded a period that operated for a year from 2022 to 2023.
