Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby met and fell in love last season of “Bachelor In Paradise.”
Both have similar pasts as Danielle Maltby lost her fiancé to a drug overdose while Michael Allio lost his wife to breast cancer.
Although they were not engaged at the end of “Paradise,” they continued their relationship and prepared for their first holiday season together.

Danielle Maltby is thinking about her and Michael’s plans for the holiday — and it looks like it’s going to be a busy one!
“What didn’t we do!” he told Bachelor Nation. “I’m driving to Akron this weekend for Christmas but also for some job shadowing, and then the following weekend we’re headed to the north woods of Wisconsin to celebrate Christmas with my family.”
“We are very happy to be able to spend time with both of our families,” he continued. “I can’t wait to spend Christmas with Michael and James.”
James is Michael’s son with his first wife, and it seems like he’s really warming up to Danielle. Michael recently spoke about their first meeting, where he said, “When we first introduced her, I think we had been dating for maybe, you know, six weeks, five weeks, which is a lot faster than the timeline that I did. usually would have. But I’m glad I did. I saw their connection immediately and it was a beautiful thing.”

Heading into the New Year, Danielle Maltby told Bachelor Nation that she’s grateful to have Michael by her side.
“I feel like I’m always in awe of the support that’s given so easily, and knowing my fear in past relationships of being too much for someone wasn’t true with him,” she said. “I have enough and I can count on him. I have learned that I am actually in a partnership and dating someone who is more able to support. He is my gift.”

After “Bachelor In Paradise” ended, Michael Allio took to Instagram to talk about his and Danielle’s relationship.
“Where do I begin?,” he wrote. “Well, I guess my journey to find love is far from normal. I’ve never been one to shy away from risks, often preferring to create my own fresh set of footprints on this road less traveled. I’m a traveler at heart, but I don’t know how this journey will end nor what challenges I will face along the way. But I guess that’s the point, right? We’re not supposed to know how it’s going to end… just hope to muster up enough courage to start… and to keep going when times get tough. And trust me when I say… this is hard.”
Michael finds himself in hot water for his first relationship on the beach with Sierra Jackson. The two bond almost immediately as Michael breaks down his walls and opens up about losing his wife, Laura, and what life is like as a single parent. Sierra responded with support, even naming a group of stars after Michael’s family, including his late wife.
Unfortunately, that was the same night Michael ended everything with Sierra, which caught him off guard. The single father said there was “something missing” between them, leaving Sierra heartbroken.
“I lean on my supporters to help heal the wounds left by my critics,” Michael continued to write on social media. “Those who are too eager to make judgments and click instead of taking the time to understand the plight of others. I don’t hold any ill will towards them because they don’t understand. At first, sifting the “real” from the “fake” was a challenge … until it became a habit. After that, my path became clear. I am thankful for this… because that road led me to you Miss Maltby. The most beautiful gift that I will never feel precious enough but a gift that I will not take for granted.”
