Raven-Symoné Dishes On ‘The Cheetah Girls’ Secrets

Raven-Symoné rose to fame as a child actress, playing the role of Olivia Kendall on “The Cosby Show” from 1989-1992. She later became a Disney Channel star when she landed the lead role on “That’s So Raven” from 2003-2007.

She has appeared in numerous films and television shows including “Dr. Dolittle” (1998), “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” (1999), “The Princess Diaries 2” (2004), and, of course, the franchise “The Cheetah Girls”.

In the latest episode of Them’s YouTube series, Becoming, Raven-Symoné talks about her memories with “The Cheetah Girls.”

“There’s a lot of secrets to the movie that no one will know,” he says with a laugh. “It’s funny.”

Raven starred in the first two films as Galleria, alongside Adrienne Bailon, who played Chanel, Sabrina Bryan who played Dorinda, and Kiely Williams who played Aqua.

At one point, there was a spat between actresses Raven and Adrienne, to whom the 36-year-old touched, saying “Again, you have a young woman in a very powerful position in a movie — how many lobsters are you going to fight. put it in the pot, you know what I mean?”

But he explained that that was in the past. “We’re good though. I love you, Adrienne.”

Putting aside the drama surrounding “The Cheetah Girls”, Raven admits she will always love the franchise, and without it, she wouldn’t be who she is today.

The Disney Channel star went on to discuss her hit television show, “That’s so Raven,” as well, describing it as “the time of our lives that first season and then the time of our career until the end of the show.”

“We had so many personal goals accomplished, so many career goals accomplished, friendships that will last forever,” Raven said, however, she admitted she also made “enemies that will last forever,” as well.

Raven currently stars in the “That’s So Raven” spin-off series, “Raven’s Home,” which airs on the Disney Channel.

Raven Speaks Out Against “Don’t Say Gay” Bill.

Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill has received a lot of backlash from celebrities and corporations, including Raven-Symoné.

The bill states that “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties regarding sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through 3rd grade or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students according to state standards.”

The Walt Disney Company has received some backlash because CEO Bob Chapek has not taken a strong stance on the bill. Disney employees staged a walkout at the time to protest the bill, and Raven-Symoné and her “Raven’s Home” co-stars planned their own departures.

“In support of our LGBTQ+ families and all those who would be damaged by the ‘don’t say gay bill’, we the cast of ‘Raven’s Home’ are coming out,” Raven wrote in the caption on Instagram at the time. “In today’s world, it’s important for us to take a stand, show support, and move forward not backward.”

The 37-year-old actor added, “Every family every person and every child deserves to be recognized regardless of their race, gender, or sexual orientation. Education that reflects the truth and the world we live in is something we must strive for.”
