The attorney for Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen claims the two Indiana teenage girls he is accused of killing were actually “ritualistically sacrificed” by a racist pagan cult.
“Members of a pagan Norse religion, called Odinism, kidnapped by white nationalists, ritually sacrificed Abigail Williams and Liberty German,” said a new filing Monday of the 2017 victims, ages 13 and 15, respectively.
“There is nothing, absolutely nothing, linking Richard Allen to Odinism or any religious cult,” claims the filing obtained by CBS News.
The 136-page filing alleges that two groups of Odinists — one local to Delphi and another more than 120 miles away in Rushville, Indiana — were investigated in connection with the February 2017 murder, Scripps News said.
The white nationalist cult may have targeted the girls because one of their parents had a mixed-race relationship, Allen’s attorneys Andrew Baldwin and Brad Rozzi alleged in the filing.

Several pagan symbols were also left at the scene, including the way German bodies were laid out, Allen’s lawyer claimed.
The defense cited 92 reasons why the murder could not have been committed by a man, and pointed to the alleged sighting of Allen before the murder, which would have given him just one hour and 17 minutes for the murder to take place, 21 Alive News said.
“The failure of law enforcement to actively pursue the apparent connection between the crime scene and Odinism is misleading,” the defense team wrote in the filing.
Allen was arrested last October for the infamous 2017 murder. Carroll County Circuit Court
The two teenagers went missing while hiking the Monon High Bridge Trail on February 13, 2017. Their bodies were found off the trail a day later.
Allen, 50, was charged in October 2022 after an analysis concluded a .40-caliber round found between the bodies of Williams and German came from a gun he owned.
He confessed to multiple murders in prison phone calls to his wife and mother, according to previous court documents.

However, Allen’s attorney claims he was “monitored, intimidated, and mentally abused” at the Westville Correctional Facility by correctional officers who were Odinists — including one who allegedly wore a patch saying, “In Odin We Trust.”
Court documents also allege the Carroll County sheriff lied about the timeline of the murders and other details to obtain a search warrant for Allen’s home.

Attorneys asked an Indiana judge to throw out evidence gathered during the search, claiming the search warrant was based on probable cause.
Allen has pleaded not guilty to both counts of murder. His lawyers are trying to have ballistics excluded from the trial, which is scheduled to begin on January 8, 2024.
The Carroll County prosecutor’s office did not respond to messages about the filing, CBS News said.
