Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign has launched a microsite attacking rival Nikki Haley’s secret “liberal” record, The Post has learned.
The site, titled “Who is the real Nikki Haley?,” told voters the former ambassador to the United Nations “isn’t the conservative she says she is” and has “supported every liberal cause under the sun.”
The DeSantis camp argues Haley has tried to “hide” her stance on Hillary Clinton, illegal immigration, China, biological men in women’s bathrooms, child mutilation, Gaza refugees, government censorship, tax increases, BLM mobs and corporate welfare.
The website also featured a video showing Haley’s previous statements on the issues, including her saying “the reason” she got into politics “is because of Hillary Clinton,” that the US needs “as many immigrants” as it can get legally, and that the death of George Floyd in May 2020 was “personal and painful for everyone.”
The launch of the site comes as DeSantis and Haley have stepped up their attacks on each other in recent months. Both White House candidates are struggling for vote share as polls show former President Donald Trump remains the GOP frontrunner.
DeSantis’ site hits Haley with many of the same attacks as in the past, but aggregates their arguments all in one place.
The Florida gubernatorial campaign hit out at Haley over her record of bringing Chinese investment to South Carolina while she was the state’s governor, and got back at Haley over her remarks about the possibility of the US accepting refugees from the Gaza Strip — an argument some fact-checkers later refuted.
The site also learned of Haley’s recent statements about social media surveillance and sold t-shirts that said Haley was “always watching.”
Haley sparked an uproar on Tuesday by saying she would propose requiring social media users to verify their identities out of “national security” concerns.

In response to the subsequent outrage, Haley’s campaign said she believes “social media companies need to do a better job of verifying users so we can crack down on Chinese, Iranian and Russian bots.”
DeSantis’ video also highlighted Haley’s policy on what “care” should be on the table for teenagers seeking gender reassignment surgery.
The former South Carolina governor initially said he thought “the law should be overturned,” and that “this is a job that should be handled by parents.” His campaign later said he “supports a ban on sex-change treatment for minors.”

Haley vetoed a bill while she was governor that would have banned biological males from accessing women’s restrooms in South Carolina schools, arguing it was unnecessary.
Earlier this month, Haley’s super PAC launched an ad attacking DeSantis on his anti-fracking record. The clips were taken out of context and DeSantis said he opposes fracking in the Florida Everglades because of the area’s environmental makeup, but has supported fracking nationally, the Washington Post said in a Fact Check tagging the ad with “Four Pinocchios.”
“Ron DeSantis’ Hail Mary attempt to resurrect his corpse in the campaign is pathetic,” Haley spokesman Ken Farnaso told The Post. “Instead, he should explain why he still recruits Chinese businesses to Florida, opposes offshore oil drilling and fracking, and voted to increase the national debt. While Nikki soared across the state early, DeSantis was on the rise. Poll after poll has proven Nikki Haley to be the best challenger to Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Ron DeSantis lied because he lost.”
The site debuted hours after a Washington Post/Monmouth University poll published Friday showed Haley in second place in New Hampshire at 18%, with DeSantis in fifth at 7%.
Nationally, DeSantis consistently ranks second behind Trump, according to RealClearPolitics.
