Three healthy years after falling in love with each other, the lovers took their relationship to the next level. The cute couple announced their engagement on the latest episode of their iHeartRadio podcast, “Old-ish.”
Although they only shared the happy news, the soon-to-be-married couple celebrated their new status two months early. During their discussion with co-host Randy Spelling, the couple recalled the unique proposal and how it came as a double surprise.

The Sept. 22 update of their “Old-ish” podcast saw the former “Dancing With The Stars” teammates gushing about their engagement. Echoing the same excitement, the professional dancer and her fiance recounted an emotional proposal to Tori Spelling’s brother.
“He proposed to me!” The Australian sensation splashed out with her lover patting herself on the back, saying, “I did that.” Burgess revealed the couple’s relationship status was not a recent development, with Green confirming he had proposed to her at her 50th birthday party in July.
“Sharna threw me this surprise party, and I was like, ‘That’s the perfect place to do it. He’ll never see it coming,’” the TV personality recalled. Explaining how the special moment came about, the choreographer explained the “Anger Management” actress had asked her children for help.
The California native shares his eldest son Kassius with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil, three boys — Noah, Bodhi, and Journey — with ex-wife Megan Fox, and one son Zane with his new fiance. The 50-year-old’s youngest children supported their father’s engagement, making it an emotional moment for Burgess.
“The children came in with him. Noah is holding Zane, and Journey is holding this little red Cartier box. And they all went in there, and they stood next to Brian,” the 38-year-old revealed. “He took the box from Journey, and he said, ‘Will you spend the rest of your life with us?'”
“I just looked at him like, ‘I can’t believe this is actually happening,'” admitted the Australian beauty, insisting that she never expected the proposal to happen on the same day she threw a surprise party for her lover.

Despite her initial shocked reaction, the pro dancer happily accepted the ring. “Of course, I said yes, and I put the ring on my finger, and I hugged them all, and it was the most perfect unit, beautiful because it was us, our unit, our tribe,” the media personality chimed in.
“I love that he wanted to do it…To have this beautiful, intimate moment with my people, my tribe standing there, walking me in with this beautiful ring that was a dream,” Burgess raved about the sweet proposal. “I don’t know what to do with myself other than just say, ‘Yes. Yes for this life, yes for life.'”
The “So You Think You Can Dance” alum loved the child’s engagement so much that she had to recreate it in the couple’s engagement announcement. On her Instagram page, Burgess shared a touching video about her blended family with the caption, “Our newest chapter.”
The clip, set to a moving poetry reading by Whitney Hanson, begins with the father’s big hands followed by the cute little hands of his youngest sons, Noah, Bodhi, Journey, and Zane. At the end, Burgess added her petite hand to the pile, showing off a stunning diamond gem on her wedding finger.
