Alec John Such, former bassist and one of the founding members of Bon Jovi, has died.
Alec’s death was confirmed by Bon Jovi in a heartbreaking tweet on June 5, 2022. The tweet read, “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such. He is a native. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was instrumental in the band’s formation. To be honest, we found our way to each other through him”.
The same tweet concluded, “He was Tico’s childhood friend and brought Richie to see us perform. Alec was always wild and full of life. Today those special memories bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. We will miss him dearly. ”.
Similarly, songwriter and keyboardist David Bryan also paid tribute via Tweet. He wrote, “RIP, my soul mate. It is an honor and a joy to share the stage and life with you”.

In a May 2000 interview, Alec revealed his health problems. He said, “a drunk driver crashed his car in Marlboro, breaking his hip. Recovery is very painful, physically and mentally”.
