Dionne Warwick Is ‘Over The Moon’ About Upcoming Duet With Dolly Parton

Dionne Warwick is celebrating a major musical win!

With a career he began at the age of six, Warwick earned himself a reputation as one of the 40 biggest hitmakers in the United States between 1955 and 1999. He also ranked #74 on the Billboard Hot 100 “Greatest Artists of All Time”, having sold over one hundred million records worldwide and won several awards, including one American Music Award, one Billboard Music Award and six Grammy Awards. However, the feat has done nothing to slow down the singer, who is teaming up with Dolly Parton for a new single.

If there’s one thing people have proven to Warwick throughout his career, it’s that they love him and are excited about whatever project he puts out. They got a chance to show his unwavering support once again after he announced that he was dueting with fellow music powerhouse and award winner Parton.

The 82-year-old shared the news in a video that showed him wearing a pair of stylish dark glasses, a black beanie hat, a matching graphic t-shirt and a cross necklace. Warwick started Twitter clips by telling viewers she was “a little tired but okay” after her trip to Los Angeles, where she went to do her part for “Peace Like A River.”

“We are very excited that I will have a release date soon. So, open your eyes and ears. Dolly and I are really excited about it,” the “I’ll Never Love This Way Again” singer told fans.

The Blast shared in a May 2022 report that Warwick’s music has transcended the pop scene to become a force in the global hashtag challenge “TheWorldNeeds” — a joint effort between TikTok and the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR.

Both sides provide their respective bases with news of a new music campaign that promotes unity and solidarity among refugees around the world. #TheWorldNeeds challenge will include a series of TikTok Live concerts from its debut until Saturday, May 7.

The agency added that the TikTok community will use Warwick’s hit song, “What the World Needs Now (Is Love)” — originally released in 1965 by Jackie DeShannon — to create a video supporting the cause.

Accepting to be at the center of the campaign was not a challenge for the singer, who previously served as part of the UNHCR World Star Festival. The mother-of-two released a statement highlighting the rapidly increasing number of refugees worldwide compared to the number of refugees who attended when she supported the 1968 Festival. The “No Night So Long” hitmaker wrote in parts:

“There has never been a more important time to stand in solidarity and show support for people around the world who have been forced to flee their homes.”

TikTok has a dedicated information page with details about supporting and donating to UNHCR.
