An ice skater who portrayed Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” was left in critical condition Saturday after she collapsed mid-performance during a Disney on Ice show in Minneapolis.
The skater fell to the ice during the accident while being lifted into the air by another player, officials said in a statement obtained by KARE 11.
The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was said to be in critical, but stable condition as of Sunday morning.
The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
A local mother, identified by the station as Beka, said Belle looked “shaken” before she fell during a lift she was doing with an actor portraying the Beast.
“They were doing a lift, he looked wobbly and he fell,” the mother said, adding that the injury happened about 40 minutes after the 11am show.
“I am very thankful and grateful to the remaining staff and the continuing performers because that keeps the magic going for the kids. I know that must be very difficult,” he added.

Horrific video footage of the incident shared on X shows the actress portraying Belle appearing to seize up as she lies on ice, as the actor playing the Beast hovers over her and medics rush to her side.
Disney on Ice said it “appreciates the kind words from our fans as our team members recover.”
The company added that the injured performer was not a local Minnesota skater, but a member of the production.
The show is scheduled to run through Sunday in Minneapolis.
