Donald Trump Jr. “shocked” that Tucker Carlson and Fox News are parting ways.

On Monday morning, the network announced that Carlson’s final program had aired on Friday. In a statement, the network said “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and before that as a contributor.”

On Monday afternoon, Donald Trump Jr. has taken to Instagram to share several photos featuring Tucker Carlson posing with Donald Trump.

“I was shocked,” wrote the 45-year-old political activist in the caption. “A once-in-a-generation talent and someone willing to challenge the norm is at Fox News. Wherever Tucker ends up, he will continue to be a great voice for conservatives without corporate shackles.”

“Besides DJT maybe no one understands the GOP base like Tucker and is one of the few people who using logic and reason can bring independents into the fold,” he continued, prompting one follower to say that Donald Trump “needs to add him to the 2024 ticket. “

Donald Trump Jr. also said that Fox News’ decision to drop Tucker Carlson “changed things forever” in an interview with conservative activist and podcast host Charlie Kirk on “The Charlie Kirk Show.”

“I mean, I think it changed things permanently. That’s one of the few voices in the Republican party that will spout nonsense from GOP senators, governors, etc. You know, a real thought leader in conservatism,” Trump Jr. said, calling the results “really shocking.”

“I hope that whatever he does, he continues to be the voice of conservatism because, again, he’s one of the few people who push those boundaries,” he added.

It’s interesting that Donald Trump Jr. has expressed such vocal support for Tucker Carlson, who claimed in a January 4, 2021 text message that he was fed up with the former US President.

“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump almost every night. I really can’t wait,” she texted someone whose information was redacted (via NBC News). Carlson continued to text, “I hate him with a passion. … I can’t handle any more of this.”

Carlson Walks Back Previous Text Messages About Donald Trump

Shortly thereafter, Tucker Carlson attempted to retract his earlier text messages about Donald Trump during an appearance on WABC radio (via NBC News). At the time, he said he was “furious” that his private text messages had been made public.

“And I think this is in the text, and it’s all been seized completely illegally, in my opinion, in this court case, which I don’t think I’m allowed to talk about, but I’m furious that my private text was taken away. ,” he said then.

Carlson claimed that he had been texting with one of his publishers because “some idiot in the Trump campaign had sent us the names of these dead voters who had voted,” in reference to him repeating Trump’s inaccurate claim that deceased individuals had voted in Georgia. Carlson went on to say that he “felt insulted” that he took Trump’s untrue statement and “repeated it on the air.”

The news that Tucker Carlson and Fox News are parting ways comes just about an hour before CNN announced that they are dropping Don Lemon.
