Former US President Donald Trump has shared his wishes for his first day if he is re-elected. Late Monday, Trump used his social media platform, Truth Social, to post that he would release all those imprisoned as a result of the January 6, 2021 Capital riots.
His post read, “My next first act as your President will be to Close the Borders, DRILL, BABIES, DRILL, and Free the wrongfully imprisoned January 6th Hostages!”
More than 1300 people have been charged in all 50 states of America for various crimes related to the Capitol incident. On that day, hundreds of rioters stormed into the building to protest Trump’s loss to Biden for the 2020 election.
In January, the DOJ released an update from the investigation, confirming that at least 550 defendants had been sentenced while at least 330 had been jailed. Nearly 500 individuals were charged with obstructing law enforcement, which is a felony, and assault. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Amid Trump’s promise to free those convicted of the Capitol riots, a new report has revealed that there were “hidden transcripts” during the investigation.
follow Fox Newsthe transcript claims that the congressional committee investigating the incident falsely claimed to have no evidence that the former Trump administration requested assistance from the National Guard.
Barry Loudermilk, Republican Representative of Georgia, released a statement about the alleged transcripts on Friday.
It reads, “The former J6 Select Committee appears to be withholding Mr. Ornato’s critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicts their established narrative. The testimony of Mr. Ornato proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along: President Trump actually offered 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the US Capitol, which was turned down.”
Loudermilk’s transcript released is from testimony given by former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato. Molly Hemingway, a contributor to Fox News and The Federalist, previously agreed with Loudermilk’s claim that the committee “suppressed evidence” regarding requests for National Guard support.

As hundreds of criminal defendants have been convicted and imprisoned for their roles in the riots, a Washington federal appeals court has ruled that some of them had their sentences improperly increased. This follows hundreds of appeals from defendants after the end of their cases.
The Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit recently ruled on defendant Larry Brock’s case and said his sentence improperly included charges of “interfering with the administration of justice.”
Enrique Tarrio, former leader of the Proud Boys, received the longest sentence for the Capital Riot incident to date.
Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison after being convicted of sedition by a Washington jury. Three other prominent individuals in the Proud Boys received sentences ranging from 15 to 18 years.
