Drake and 21 Savage are free from their recent legal troubles!
The rapper got into trouble after distributing digital and physical copies of Vogue covers and fake magazines promoting their 2022 joint album, “Her Loss.” Savage and Drake have settled a lawsuit against them by the magazine’s parent company Condé Nast for an undisclosed amount. They were initially sued for $4 million in damages by the publishing company.

The fake cover and magazine, which featured Drake, also included a photoshopped image of a young version of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and a fake story. The “One Dance” hitmaker used a fake publication to promote “Her Loss” on her social media pages, claiming that she and Savage would be on newsstands ahead of its Nov. 4 release.
The rapper also gave a shout-out to Wintour, cementing her and her fellow rapper’s legal fate. Now, a few months later, Semaphore has broken news of the settlement, marking the end of the legal war between the talented rapper and Condé Nast.
In an internal memo shared by the company’s general counsel Will Bowes, it was revealed that Condé Nast received a “permanent injunction preventing further commercial use of the Vogue trademark.”

While the memo, which was distributed Thursday, revealed that the company received a monetary settlement from Savage and Drake, the specific amount was not specified. However, Bowes noted that the money will “support” “ongoing creative output, including Vogue editorials.”
The attorney general added that while Condé Nast understands that their brand “may be referenced in other creative works,” it went beyond the norm in that case. In his words:
“However, in this case, it is clear to us that Drake and 21 Savage are exploiting Vogue’s reputation for their own commercial purposes and, in the process, misleading audiences who trust Vogue as an authoritative voice in fashion and culture.”
He also emphasized that the rap duo had been repeatedly warned to stop distributing fake Vogue material before they were served the letter.
Talented Music Heavyweight Faces Lawsuit Days After ‘Her Loss’ Release
As reported by The Blast, Drake — full name Aubrey Drake Graham — and Savage — real name Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph — have received a lawsuit nearly a week after their collaborative album was dropped.
The suit, filed in Manhattan federal court, alleges the 36-year-old and 30-year-old rapper exploited the brand name by using it to advertise their most joint project without proper permission.
Versions of the two publications, which appear authentic, have been distributed on several streets in cities in the United States, including New York and Miami, and they have become even more popular with their online fan base.
Condé Nast – also known as Advance Magazine Publishers Inc – further claimed that the ruse gave their avid readers the impression that Drake and Savage would appear on the cover of the famous lifestyle magazine.

The suit, which reads, “All of this is false. And none of it has been authorized by Conde Nast,” also cited a cease-and-desist letter the company sent to the “Take Care” hitmaker and the “can’t go without” rapper asking them to end their “unauthorized use of Vogue’s trademark [and] stop any distribution” for doctored magazines.
The mass media company appealed to the duo to release a statement clarifying that their magazine was fake to limit the “widespread confusion” it has caused since it hit the internet. The litigation later stated that the fake publication’s use of Wintour’s face was also disapproved:
“Anna Wintour did not authorize the use of her image to promote the Defendant’s Album.”
Along with the fake Vogue publication, other promotional campaigns for “Her Loss” included an NPR “Tiny Desk” appearance, a Howard Stern interview and a “Saturday Night Live” performance — all of which were doctored by the design mastermind.
As for the album itself, “Her Loss” gained traction online, with “Rich Flex” being one of its biggest tracks, spawning several memes and jokes aimed at Drake on Twitter.
Although Savage and Drake have worked together to release singles, this will be their first collaborative album. Their previous songs include “Jimmy Cooks” from Drake’s album, “Honestly, Nevermind,” and “Knife Talk” from the 36-year-old’s “Certified Lover Boy” project.
